Henry Cavill, known for his portrayal of Superman, is rumored to appear as a Wolverine variant in Deadpool 3, and some fans are concerned about the nature and significance of the role.
Cavill has been the subject of much speculation since his departure from the DCEU following the release of Black Adam in 2022. With David Corenswet set to take on the mantle of Superman in James Gunn’s upcoming reboot, fans have been eagerly anticipating Cavill’s next move, with many hoping to see him join the ranks of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Numerous fan-casts have emerged, suggesting he could be a perfect fit for powerful characters such as Hyperion, or even the X-Men’s Cyclops. However, The most recent rumors have linked the British actor to a surprising role in Deadpool 3.
According to CanWeGetToast on X/Twitter, Henry Cavill is set to portray a Wolverine variant in the film. The post further teased that fans would be “very pleased” with Cavill’s appearance in the movie. However, this revelation has sparked a flurry of reactions from the fan community. Some have speculated that Marvel Studios might be hesitant to cast Cavill in a one-off role, given his stature and popularity, while others have expressed skepticism about the suitability of a Wolverine variant for the actor.
Cavill has previously expressed interest in portraying a character in the MCU. In a 2021 Screenrant interview, he acknowledged the widespread speculation surrounding his potential casting as Captain Britain, stating that he found the idea of bringing a modernized interpretation of the character, akin to the reinvention of Captain America, to be an exciting prospect. Captain Britain, also known as Brian Braddock, is a prominent superhero in the Marvel Comics universe and a member of the elite team Excalibur. With his superhuman strength, flight, and energy manipulation abilities, Cavill’s portrayal could potentially introduce a powerful new addition.
