But one of his peculiar feuds with Tom Cruise stands out as one of the more confusing ones. Bieber’s attitude towards Cruise appears strangely one-sided and baffling. Because in a public tweet, he challenged the Top: Gun Maverick actor to a physical fight.

In a 2019 tweet, the Baby singer literally challenged Cruise to a physical battle. He took to Twitter and wrote:

“I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you don’t take this fight your [sic] scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight?”

This isn’t it. Bieber then posted a video in which he’s kicking the cap off a bottle, saying:

“This could be Tom Cruise’s head.” Uh… right.”

When HuffPost investigated Bieber’s aggression toward Tom Cruise the reasons (whether personal or for attention), remained unclear. But he also told TMZ he was “just playing” when he initially tweeted about fighting Cruise.

Justin Bieber joined James Corden in the popular Carpool Karaoke segment. When The Late Late Show With James Corden host asked why the singer wanted to face off against Cruise. Bieber went on to explain that he “was just being stupid, to be honest.”

“But then people were like, ‘I wanna see this happen.’ And I was like, ‘You know what? That could actually be funny.’”

At that time, some people thought the singer had lost his mind as he was challenging a man twice his age. A Twitter user (@SatoshiFlipper) wrote, “Bieber lost his mind lol,” while another user (@lmwortho) wrote, “As in you’re on the Internet making a right pelican of yourself challenging a man twice your age.”
