Christopher Nolan talks about Taylor Swift’s Uncommon Release Strategy For Her Concert Film.

Can you see filmmaker Christopher Nolan making comments on Taylor Swift? Coz that really happened. The Anti-Hero singer’s concert movie blockbuster The Eras Tour received a shout-out from the acclaimed director. Swift distributed the concert film directly through AMC theaters and not Hollywood studios.

Nolan took note of this and said how this move of releasing the film directly to theaters without involving studios is going to make an enormous amount of money.

Christopher Nolan Praises Taylor Swift for Releasing Her Movie Directly to Theaters
It’s not Tom Cruise, it will most probably be Taylor Swift. Christopher Nolan believes that the blockbuster release of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour in theater will be proven right and profitable and this strategy will show how only theaters can be the place where such massive cultural events should be released.

Christopher Nolan said at the CUNY Graduate Center:

“Taylor Swift is about to show the studios because her concert film is not being distributed by the studios.”

“It’s being distributed by the theater owner, AMC, and it’s going to make an enormous amount of money. And this is the thing, this is a format, this is a way of seeing things and sharing stories, or sharing experiences that’s incredibly valuable. And if they [the studios] don’t want it, somebody else will. So that’s just the truth of it.”

The film was originally set to open on Oct. 13 before Swift preponed the release by a day, citing “unprecedented demand.” The film has already grossed $123 million in less than a week of release. It became the top-grossing concert film of all time in North America with a $92.8 million domestic opening.

Swift’s concert movie will give fans who couldn’t get tickets along with those wanting to relive the experience a chance to see her perform for the price of a movie ticket.
