The Michigan Wolverines recently held their annual pro day in Ann Arbor as the program attempts to set an NFL Draft record for players selected and one of those players will surely be quarterback JJ McCarthy.

Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy joined more than 20 of his former teammates in participating at the program’s Pro Day in Ann Arbor on Friday. The three-time Big Ten champion and 2023 national champion signal-caller was the headliner and he delivered in every way possible.

Per ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller, McCarthy’s throwing session lasted near 25 minutes and clean with “just two clear misses” while showcasing zip, touch, while “hitting a lot of deep routes” with “easy power and velocity.”

JJ McCarthy met with the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants this week and is set to have a private workout with the Minnesota Vikings next week.

Speaking of one of those teams, one of those NFL franchises is emerging as the clear-cut favorite to draft him next month.

Major sports books are said to have the Minnesota Vikings as the heavy favorites as of right now.

Many experts have the Vikings trading up to select a quarterback and some of them experts have the Vikings selecting McCarthy, while others think they will take former North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye with the third overall pick.

JJ McCarthy’s stock has gradually risen in the weeks leading up to the draft. The 6-foot-3 McCarthy, in his two years as the school’s starting quarterback, threw 44 touchdowns against just nine interceptions. He completed a whopping 72.3% of his throws last season while helping Michigan go undefeated and winning the National Championship, according to ESPN.com.

Minnesota Vikings Can Usher In New Era With JJ McCarthy After Losing Kirk Cousins

It believed that the Minnesota Vikings could move up from choice No. 11 to either No. 3 or No. 4 in the draft order to take JJ McCarthy.

The team desperately needs a new quarterback after Kirk Cousins left and signed a deal with the Atlanta Falcons.

McCarthy may have questions about him, but he could work out for what the Vikings want to do on offense and usher in a much-needed new era.
