Since she began dating NFL star Travis Kelce this summer, Taylor Swift has been a fixture at Kansas City Chiefs’ games—receiving almost as much coverage as the players.

The 34-year-old singer wore a Chiefs’ sweater and a red and white beanie to the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday, where the team faced the New England Patriots. Fans couldn’t get enough of the hat, adorned with Kelce’s #87, calling it “the sweetest thing!”

“Love is taylor wearing the hat with 87, travis’ number,” said TikTok user oliviabpage. “SO CUTE,” wrote Cardigan, while BellieBTees commented: “I love her hat. It’s gotta be homemade!!”

In an Instagram video shared on Monday, the beanie’s creator explained how she made the adorable headwear and how it ended up on the pop icon’s head—describing the attention as “insane.”

“I work as a social media manager for Westside Storey, where Taylor’s team purchased her vintage Chiefs’ sweatshirts,” @KuttheKnit said while showcasing the crocheted design in its early stages.

“When I heard that the order might be for Taylor, I knew I wanted to make her something as a gift in the package. Even if it wasn’t her, I thought at least maybe it would go to a fan or someone on her team.”

She shared footage of herself crocheting the beanie the night before the order was sent.

“I went through different designs and ideas with my sister and decided on something clean and simple so that it was versatile to wear,” she said, stitching a pom pom to the top of the hat. “I originally wanted to add yellow, but I didn’t have the right shade in my stock, and I didn’t have time to buy some, so I just left it in white and red.”

The Instagrammer explained that she almost didn’t add Kelce’s number to the design, as she didn’t want Swift to “confuse it with #13/89 on the Chiefs.” However, she ultimately decided to go ahead, using black thread.

She added the beanie to the parcel as a free gift and was stunned when the pop icon wore it to the game.

“This is so insane,” she said. “It still hasn’t fully hit me yet, but thank you, everyone, for your support!”

She also apologized to people trying to order their own version, explaining that she had been inundated with requests.

“Thank you everyone for your support,” she said. “Once I get through most of the orders I will open it back up.”

Swift quietly began dating the Chiefs’ tight end in July after he confessed to having a crush on the pop star during an episode of his New Heights podcast.
