Expert reveals moments Duke ‘lies’ in Spare

A ROYAL expert says he can prove Prince Harry’s bombshell book is inaccurate – casting a shadow of doubt on his “truths”.

The Sun’s Arthur Edwards spoke on our Royal Exclusive show this week, and questioned the royal he’s been photographing for decades.

The expert says he knows there are parts of Harry’s memoir Spare that aren’t true – because he was with the duke at the time.

Arthur said this makes him – and Brits – question what they can believe when the Duke of Sussex makes claims.

One example he gave was where Harry said he was when he was told the Queen Mother died – and where he actually was.

Arthur was speaking after US federal lawyers decided Spare wasn’t “proof” that Harry had done cocaine as his visa was granted.

It came after the duke detailed taking coke, weed and magic mushrooms.

During the hearing, Harry’s lawyer claimed the royal might have exaggerated his drug claims to sell copies of his autobiography.

Royal photographer Arthur Edwards spoke on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show following lawyer John Bardo claiming “the book [Spare] isn’t sworn testimony or proof”.

The expert told The Sun: “The Royal Family have not really ever hit back about things that he said but now we’ve actually got a US court judging whether his book is true or not.

“His words finally are having to be judged, they’re having to be -they’ve got consequences.”

He said Harry’s lawyers had argued that the drug taking laid out in the book “maybe wasn’t true”.

Donald Trump is right about Prince Harry and he could be kicked out of US & forced back to the UK
The royal photographer continued: “Well, you know, you can’t have it both ways.

“If it’s true then, then you’re guilty but if it’s not true, you’re a liar.”

The expert continued: “What else in the book is lies?

“Some of the things he’s said and a lot of the stories in that book are strange.”

Arthur said one example was a story the prince told from 2002.

Harry wrote in Spare: “At Eton, while studying, I took the call. I wish I could remember whose voice was at the other end; a courtier’s I believe.

“I recall that it was just before Easter, the weather bright and warm, light slanting through my window, filled with vivid colours.”

He said: “I was with Harry in Klosters skiing trip when the Queen Mother died, but he doesn’t remember that

“He thinks he was somewhere else completely, somewhere in the UK.

Once they tell you a lie, then you doubt almost what they say in future.

“I remember it clearly because I photographed him the next day leaving back for, going back to the UK for the funeral.

“So, a lot of that book is inaccurate – or maybe he lied about the drugs.”

Arthur explained how this could cast a shadow of doubt on all the duke’s tales – both in the book and in real life.

He said: “I found that in life generally if you’re caught lying, then who knows when you’re going to be telling the truth and when you’re not.

“Once they tell you a lie, then you doubt almost what they say in future.”

The Duke wrote in Spare that cocaine “didn’t do anything for me” when he took “a line” aged 17.

The 39-year-old added: “Marijuana is different, that actually really did help me.”

After taking magic mushrooms, Harry said he started hallucinating and thought a bin in a bathroom was staring at him before growing a head.

The Sun has approached Prince Harry for comment.

Arthur also claimed Prince Harry needs to apologise to King Charles and Prince William.

He said the duke needs to do “penance” for criticising his family in his bombshell Spare memoir and numerous interviews.

Arthur explained: “There doesn’t seem to be such a strong feeling between them anymore.

What has Harry said about drug use?

In his 2023 memoir Spare, Harry admitted to taking cannabis, cocaine and magic mushrooms throughout his life.

Speaking of his cocaine use aged 17, he explained: “At someone’s house, during a hunting weekend, I was offered a line, and since then I had consumed some more.

“It wasn’t very fun, and it didn’t make me feel especially happy as seemed to happen to others, but it did make me feel different, and that was my main objective.

“To feel. To be different.”

Harry said he took psychedelics both for fun and therapeutically over the years,

After taking magic mushrooms, the Duke said he started hallucinating, and thought a bin in a bathroom was staring at him before growing a head.

The Duke also made several admissions to using cannabis, including at Kensington Palace and as a pupil at Eton.

He revealed he smoked a spliff and watched a Disney film after his first date with Meghan Markle in 2016.

Harry also admitted to enjoying a bit of bud after putting the kids to bed at his home in Montecito, California.

He wrote: “Late at night, with everyone asleep, I’d walk the house, checking the doors and windows.

“Then I’d sit on the balcony or the edge of the garden and roll a joint.

“The house looked down onto a valley, across a hillside thick with frogs. I’d listen to their late-night song, smell the scented air.”

Harry wrote that under the influence of drugs, he was able to see there was “another world where the red mist didn’t exist”.

He said drugs helped him both escape and “redefine” reality.

“I think the king is angry about what was said about his wife, what was said about his eldest son William and Catherine.”

Arthur added: “I think Harry has got to do a lot of penance personally.

“I think all this calling in all the money, raking in the money and trashing the royal family, he doesn’t need money.

“When he was a member of the royal family here, he never needed to worry about money,

“He never had to worry about parking his car, getting a haircut, getting a suit.

“He was someone special, he was a member of the royal family.

“He thinks life in America is sweeter, I think he’s beginning to think it’s not as sweet as he thought.”
