Kourtney Kardashian has arrived fashionably late to the #KimExposesTaylorParty.

The 37-year-old reality star opened up about the drama between sister Kim Kardashian West and Taylor Swift. No surprise here: Kourt’s #TeamKim.

In her interview for Cosmopolitan‘s October cover story, Kourtney explains that she thought her sister had every right to reveal the recorded conversations between Swift and Kim’s husband Kanye West that which allegedly showed Swift approving West’s controversial “Famous” lyrics.

“It’s her husband, and he’s family,” Kardashian said. “The truth is the truth, so why not let it be known?”

Kourtney wasn’t the first Kardashian to weigh in on the feud. Younger sister Khloé previously defended her sister by starting a Twitter war with Chloe Gracë Moretz.

In “Famous,” West raps “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex” before continuing, “Why? I made that bitch famous.”

After some reactions from the Internet when the song first dropped, Kanye took to Twitter to clear up his side of the story. According to him, Taylor had approved the lyrics prior to the song’s debut.

“I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line, and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings,” Kanye wrote. He went on to say his lyrics about Swift were “endearing” and that she herself was actually the source of a contentious line. According to him, she was at a dinner with one of their mutual friends when she allegedly said, “I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous!”

Swift quickly denied the claim, with a spokesperson telling PEOPLE: “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account.”

Her rep also said, “She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’”

Kim seemed to disagree, echoing West’s claimed in the July issue of GQ.

“[Swift] totally approved that,” she said. “She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much s— for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.”

Kim then leaked the video footage of the approval – on her Snapchat account after a July 17 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Swift quickly denied it, in an Instagram post that night.

“Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song?” she wrote. “It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world.”

A source told PEOPLE that Kim released the video out of devotion to her husband. “Kim is super loyal to Kanye and will always do anything to have his back,” says the insider. “She is even more protective of him than she is of herself. She thinks he’s misunderstood and couldn’t stand that people thought he was a liar.”
