CORONATION Street fans think they have ‘worked out’ who will be the next girlfriend of Steve McDonald.

Viewers have tuned into ITV to see the Street Cabs proprietor went on a string of failed dates.

Steve (played by Simon Gregson) was previously married to Tracy Barlow (played by Kate Ford) for five years.

Their union seemed to be a happy one until former footballer turned decorator Tommy Orpington came on the scene.

After becoming bored, she just couldn’t resist temptation as she embarked on a steamy affair.

Tracey effectively ended her marriage to Steve as she has now opted for sunnier skies in Spain with Tommy.

Ever since she left him, he has entered the dating world as a single man as he tried to meet new people.

On Wednesday night’s installment of the serial drama, Steve went on a date, only for the woman to declare that she didn’t fancy him.

He also brought Tim along into the picture on a double date at the Rovers Return, before he was caught out by his wife Sally.

As such Tim practically ended their friendship as he promised to spend more time with Sally and less time with him.

However, many Corrie viewers thinks think that Steve might be set to turn a new corner soon with better luck.

The official Coronation Street Instagram account posted a captioned snap of Steve looking heartbroken.

This only prompted the die-hard fans to flock to the comments section with their predictions, as they think he might get together with Glenda (played by Jodie Prenger).

One fan wrote: “He should hook up with Glenda that would be a scream 🥰.”

As a second viewer stated: “Steve and Glenda together, please ❤️😍.”

Replying to that comment, a third user echoed: “I was thinking that the other night 🙌.”

And a fourth added: “”Steve and Glenda are going to be a thing, mark my words”.
