Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway viewers said they would be having ‘nightmares’ after Saturday’s show.

The Geordie duo, both 48, were painted and donned balled caps to join the Blue Man Group on stage for the finale, only for fans to brand their transformation ‘creepy’.

While Ant was slathered in orange body paint, Dec opted for green – with some fans comparing him to Jim Carey in 1994 film The Mask –  as they performed with the iconic blue musical group.

Taking to X viewers said: ‘Anyone else find these blue men bit creepy??’: ‘Anyone else gonna have nightmares of Dec as the Mask?’: ‘My gosh do people actually pay money to see this Blue Man group, What utter drivel!’: ‘It feels like a fever dream’.

It comes just a week after viewers declared they would be reporting the ITV show to Ofcom.

Fans at home  fumed at Ant and Dec after Cat Deeley made the duo act out a children’s story and pour tofu sauce on their porridge for a show segment.

She made an appearance on the show with a plan to seek revenge on the presenting pair for a prank they played on her years earlier.

The This Morning presenter, 47, announced that she was going to read a dreadful bedtime story – which Ant and Dec  would have to act out in real time.

As part of the story the duo dressed as monsters, had to feed each other spoiled porridge with ‘fermented tofu sauce’.

But viewers were unimpressed by the food gag, with one taking to social media to say: ‘Why are you wasting perfectly good food, when there are many struggling to feed themselves and their families, disgusting #Shameful #itv #ofcom.’

Another wrote: ‘Sorry, gone too far with wasting food, even if it’s out of date. I wonder how many are watching this eating food from a food bank!!!’

Cat made a glamorous entrance in a black beaded mini dress with one sleeve off and one puffed sleeve to command the pair, while holding the ‘dreadime story’ book in her hands.

Ant and Dec were then forced to dress up as their hilarious monster alter-egos Anty and Decky, and then the duo brought to life everything Cat said while narrating the story.

While Ant was slathered in orange body paint, Dec opted for green - with some fans comparing him to Jim Carey in 1994 film The Mask - as they performed with the iconic blue musical group.

While Ant donned a purple hairy cyclops, Dec also become a brown hairy monster with quirky orange hair.

And as the This Morning star went on with her frightening plot, the hosting pair suffered a hilarious ‘electric shock’ to their bum – leaving the audience to burst into uncontainable laughs.

‘Suddenly, the weather took a nasty turn. It can be like that in dark and dingy Newcastle, and poor Anty and Decky got struck by lightning,’ she said pressing a button next to her.

Terrified Decky exclaimed begging: ‘Cat, no, don’t press that!,’ before another lightning strike hit them once again.

The former Good Morning Britain star, 49, was seen inside a box holding some fake birds leaving fans cracking up at the funny scenario.

Viewers were in hysterics, with some gushing over the Cat, Ant and Dec reunion and recalling the 1998’s legendary sketch comedy SMTV Live on ITV, which featured the trio hosting together.
