ANT & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway viewers were left in hysterics during the return of an iconic show segment.

Viewers of the ITV show, which is set to come to an end next month, were left delighted as show hosts Ant and Dec revealed that one of the variety show’s first ever hidden camera segments, Home Run was back.

After being surprised by the show’s hosts, if they manage to run back home before the show ends they can win a prize.

On tonight’s programme, Jordan North and Josie Gibson were sent out to surprise Dawn who was out celebrating her 60th birthday at a local pub.

If Dawn managed to make it back home along with her family, she would bag herself the show’s top prize of a Takeaway Getaway.

Jordan ran alongside the star and her family as Josie remained at her home ready to shred the holiday boarding pass if they did not make it back in time.

Thankfully, they did and Dawn was left over the moon to realise that she had bagged the prize and her living room soon erupted into chaos as Jordan, Josie and a whole host of her friends jumped around in celebration.

Attempting to mark the win, Jordan was handed a confetti canon in the hopes of setting it off during the live broadcast.

However, it quickly became clear that the radio host was having trouble and difficulty as he turned the canon to face multiple different directions.

In a huge blunder, he then shot the canon downwards as it almost flew out of his hands.

Furious Saturday Night Takeaway fans call Ofcom as they slam Ant and Dec for ‘wasting food’

Ant & Dec could be heard bursting into laughter at Jordan’s unfortunate error as the celebrations failed to go off with the intended bang.

Viewers at home were equally left in stitched as they raced to X – formerly Twitter – to share their thoughts.

One penned alongside a slew of laughing face emoji’s: “@jordannorth1 trying to do the confetti cannon quickly bless him.”

Another added: “Of course Jordan North would shoot himself with a confetti canon in his Crown Jewels. #saturdaynighttakeaway.”

A third went on to write: “[laughing emoji] That popper fail.”

Before a fourth said: “Jordan North with the confetti fail.”

As a fifth couldn’t stop laughing as they added: “Jordan trying to pop the confetti canon.”

It comes as viewers threatened to ‘boycott’ the show during the same episode as JLS announced a huge surprise.

The former X Factor runners up took part in the karaoke segment on the ITV primetime show.

The band – made up of Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams, JB Gill and I’m A Celebrity star Marvin Humes – were left teasing a special guest would be joining them and fans were quick to insist they would “turn off” if it wasn’t King of the Jungle Sam Thompson.

Thankfully, the reality star did join the band to perform a rendition of their hit, She Makes Me Wanna.
