Cat Deeley has addressed rumours she’s tipped for Strictly Come Dancing, yet one professional won’t dance with her.

The presenter, 47, teased she could be headed to the BBC dancefloor to take part in the dance competition. She already has her fair share of dance experience, having hosted the American competition show So You Think You Can Dance. Cat has now further speculated rumours and she even as This Morning co-star Ben Shephard cheering her on already.

The duo were joined by Strictly Come Dancing judge and former professional dancer Anton Du Beke on Monday’s episode of the ITV daytime show. Ben declared: “Now she’s back and she’s ready and we think she is perfect for this year’s Strictly. Don’t you?”

Cat quipped: “He’s [Ben] starting a campaign, there’s going to be T-shirts printed and everything.” However, Anton wasn’t so on board with the idea as he bluntly said: “I would be furious if you did it.” The dancer continued: “I have wanted you to dance with me for many many years but now you’d go and get one of the young ones who are firm to the touch.”

He added: “But you would be magnificent on the show I am sure.” Cat replied: “You have not seen me dance, I have no rhythm. I am completely unflexible. It’s no good.” However, Ben cheekily said: “It hasn’t stopped half of the people he’s danced with over the years, did you see Kate Garraway dance?” Anton added: “Have you seen most of my partners?”

Cat made her debut as the replacement host of This Morning last- taking over the show alongside Ben. The pair, who replaced Holly Willougby and Phillip Schofield, have been met with approval from fans. However, if Cat wants to take part in Strictly she would need to fit the grueling training sessions alongside her presenting work.

She could hit the dancefloor alongside Hannah Waddingham, Roman Kemp and Toyah Willcox, who have all be tipped to take part in Strictly 2024. The Ted Lasso actress, 49, who co-presented the Eurovision Song Contest last year, is said to have been approached by BBC bosses in recent weeks. Insiders say Hannah – who is a friend of judge Anton Du Beke and his wife Hannah – is seriously considering their offer.

In an exclusive chat with The Mirror, Toyah Willcox declared she’d love to take part in the BBC dance competition following the success of her close friend Angela Rippon. When asked by The Mirror if she would be up for taking part, Toyah said: “Oh, God yeah. Well, I’d have to do

it sooner rather than later, because I’m not gonna be able to move. I do understand how hard they work. I’m friends with Angela Rippon and she was extraordinary.” While radio star Roman Kemp has seen his odds for appearing on the competition slashed despite saying he would never go on the show.
