A Celebrity Big Brother star has suffered a horrific injury that has left them bedridden.

Luisa Zissman, 36, sustained a broken back in the incident. She starred on the 2014 series of the hit reality TV show, where she placed fourth. She shared an update to her followers where she revealed she was supposed to be on a luxury holdiay. Alongside a snap from her hospital bed, Luisa said: “Should have been in the Maldives.”

The star then posted a photo of her riding a horse as she added: “Can’t wait to ride you again.” Luisa added a selfie in her hospital gown and said: “Current situation.” She has revealed she spent eight days in bed. Pal Anna Williamson said: “She’s not in the Maldives, she’s in bed, where she has genuinely not moved for eight days.”

Luisa said: “I’ve been in bed for ages,” while on their podcast LuAnna together, to which Anna added: “She’s broken her back.” Luisa explained: “I’ve been in bed for eight days, I am feeling better. I’m not in as much pain anymore because I basically have really good meds, all prescribed, but I actually broke my back a year ago and I just didn’t realise it at the time.

“That isn’t what’s causing my pain but it doesn’t help my situation that you can still see this fractured thing, a fractured back. I’ve also got two discs bulging onto two nerves which weirdly is on the left-side but [It’s on] my whole right leg.” She added: “I basically can’t walk that well because of the nerves in my leg – It feels like I’ve got a wooden leg. So I haven’t gone to the Maldives because I can’t fly.”

Luisa shot to fame when she appeared on The Apprentice back in 2013. She came a runner-up as she narrowly missed out on Lord Sugar’s investment. The TV star went on to appear on Celebrity Big Brother just a year later where she came fourth. She was on the show alongside Sam Faiers, Dappy Contostavlos and Ollie Locke.

The reality star became known for her racy antics in the Big Brother house as she kissed Jasmine Waltz after being dared to by Dappy. Luisa has a long-running love of horses as in 2022 she shared her ‘ weird ‘ tribute to her beloved pet horse Madrono after he passed away in 2019.

The white stallion was put to sleep following a battle with cancer, but she had him stuffed and installed in her living room. Luisa shared a video of Madrono to Instagram as he took pride of place in his new home. His stuffed body was placed looking out of a window. Luisa said: “Good Morning. Beautiful Madrono seeing him everyday makes my heart pang but also reminds me how much I love him. I know, I’m a bit weird.”

While appearing on Good Morning Britain in 2021, Luisa admitted she struggled to say goodbye to Madrono. “I suppose everyone deals with grief in different ways. He’s so majestic and so beautiful so I didn’t want to let go of him,” she said. “When I knew Madrono had to be put to sleep I went to Simon [a taxidermist] and said I couldn’t bear to not see him again. I couldn’t describe it, I just wanted him with me forever.”
