A This Morning chef made his debut today and viewers couldn’t help swooning over him.

Cat Deeley helped him whip up a delicious cake and left Ben Shephard looking like the third wheel.

Viewers also gushed over Italian star Damiano Carrara, from Tuscany, who appeared on the ITV show on Tuesday for the first time.

Damiano – who is good friends with This Morning regular Gino D’Acampo – was introduced at the top of the programnme along with other celeb guests including Jeremey Clarkson and Brian Cox.

But Cat was clearly taken with Damiano, and she attempted to impersonate the 38-year-old’s Italian accent.

This Morning fans quickly rushed to X, and one tweeted: “Gino who?? It’s all about Damiano!”

Another penned: “Jeremy Clarkson crap next. I’m just holding out for Damiano.”

“Well hellooooo Damiano!!” another typed alonsgide heart eye emojis.

Damiano is a TV star in Italy judging their version of Bake Off and he boasts over one million followers on Instagram.

He owns two patisseries in his hometown of Lucca and has released a numer of cookbooks.

His Instagram reveals he recently married stunning wife Chiara, who manages his shops, and the couple are expecting their first baby together.

Cat, 47, recently returned to the UK and took over hosting duties on This Morning after Holly Willoughby quit last year.

The Birmingham native looked super glam today, wearing a leather mini-skirt and cricket jumper.

Stylist David O’Brien, who is also Head of Costume at ITV, is responsible for the ensembles, and said the 47-year-old is a “dream to work with”.

“She loves fashion and has a great style aesthetic,” he told Grazia Daily.

“We love to make fashion and clothes fun and playful. At the moment, we are loving the whole 70’s vibe with lots of texture and colour.”

And when it comes to the brands he most often chooses for Cat to wear on screen, David said: “Hush, Boden and Mint Velvet are all great quality, as well as more affordable high street favourites such as Zara, River Island and Mango.”
