EXCLUSIVE: Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas SET to join a STAR-STUDDED line-up in Bear Grylls’ Bear Hunt

Strictly judge Shirley Ballas is set to join a star-studded line-up in Bear Grylls’ Bear Hunt after getting the all-clear following a cancer scare.

The 63-year-old ballroom legend could join Spice Girl Mel B, 48, and rugby union star Danny Cipriani, 36, in Costa Rica, where they will be put through their paces by former SAS trooper Bear, 49.

In the show, presented by Holly Willoughby, 43, Bear will test their survival skills and “hunt” them down in the jungle. Potential cast members are currently in rehearsals, enduring rigorous fitness tests to ensure they can cope with the intense and gruelling conditions, ahead of filming starting this month.

Once rehearsals and health and safety checks are complete, the 12 stars taking part in the “game of cat and mouse” will be confirmed. A source said: “Shirley is a fabulous choice, and is impressively fit thanks to years of ballroom dancing. She will be able to show off her strength and determination and show Strictly viewers a whole other side to her.”

Shirley yesterday shared the results of her breast cancer tests, which involved three biopsies. She said: “I am feeling blessed to share that my results have come back all clear – there is no cancer present.” She now warns others: “Check your body, check your breasts. It might save your life.”

The new Bear Hunt series will be on Netflix in February, and the broadcasters say: “Bear believes there’s an action hero inside us all – even the celebs.”
