Simon Cowell has joked that his Britain’s Got Talent co-star Amanda Holden needs to stop looking at herself on social media and focus more on their show’s contestants.

The 53-year-old could not help but laugh when hearing what Simon wanted her to do less of when he was asked for a segment of his fellow judge’s radio show.

The pair, alongside Bruno Tonioli and Alesha Dixon are returning to our screens with the ITV programme’s 17th series on Saturday.

Heart Breakfast’s Jamie Theakston invited his co-host to preempt what Simon would say she should do less of this morning, but she failed to land on the correct answer.

Jamie played a video to Amanda where Simon cheekily suggested: ‘I would like Amanda to do less off… Looking at herself on social media whilst we’re filming and focus on the contestants.’

Clearly spoilt for choice, Amanda had predicted that the 64-year-old would bring up any from a list of her toilet humour, inane chat, laughing, or pushing him when she laughs.

But she did get one thing right – Simon gave a list of things for his colleague to work on, as they approach the new series.

He added: ‘Stop telling me [your] show’s number one. A little more focus on the set please Amanda!’

The radio presenter bursts into hysterics as she heard Simon’s wise words before admitting: ‘I constantly say to him, “when you come on Heart Breakfast, it is the biggest radio show for breakfast, so you need to come on our show.”

‘Forget the rest,’ she quipped.

Despite their clear difference of opinion over Amanda’s social media habits, the pair were all smiles as they attended a BGT photocall together on Tuesday.

This is despite the recent noise around the show on the back of a recent feud with Sharon Osbourne following her Celebrity Big Brother stint.

The pair looked thick as thieves as they shared a giggle while posing with Bruno and Alesha  at the Ham Yard Hotel in London.

The quartet are back in action for the ITV show’s 17th series with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly returning as hosts.

Sharon joined her CBB housemate Louis Walsh in slamming Simon during their time on the ITV show

Sharon had branded Amanda an ‘ill-informed sycophant’ in an acid-tongued social media letter, after the latter had defended Simon whilst calling Sharon and CBB housemate Louis Walsh ‘bitter and pathetic’.

Louis joined Sharon in tearing into the music mogul during their time on the ITV show, where they discussed his alleged inability to maintain friendships – suggesting neither had head from Simon for a long time.

Back on the outside, Sharon suggested that Amanda only had her co-star’s back since he got her ‘a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn’t have had’ otherwise.

Amanda had told the Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine: ‘I hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon – he’s the person who’s given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn’t have had.

‘It’s bitter and pathetic. It was like Cinderella with her two sisters in the background – just stabby, stabby, stabby.’
