Britain’s Got Talent’s judges got more than they bargained for on Saturday night as they were entertained by a rockstar magician.
During the latest instalment, Arron Jones performed a musical magic routine on his keytar to Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. At the start of the routine, Arron got Simon Cowell to pick a random card, Amanda Holden to cut the deck, Simon to put his chosen card back in and Alesha Dixon to wrap a band around the cards.
Arron then entertained the crowd by playing along to Don’t Stop Believin’ on his keytar and when he hit a high note, a box on stage exploded with fire to reveal the number 17. Arron then got judge Bruno Tonioli to count out the cards until it got to Simon’s, saying it should be the 17th card.
Everyone then counted the cards and before turning over card number 17, Simon revealed what his chosen card was to which it was the 17th card. The judges and audience went wild for Arron but Simon wasn’t a fan. During feedback, Simon said: “I literally have nothing to say, you sound and look very confident… yet it didn’t do anything for me whatsoever!”

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were left baffled over a “missing” scene as they pointed out they didn’t hear what Amanda and Bruno gave the act, with Alesha saying yes and Simon saying no.
One person said: “Did that rock magician get through. They didn’t show what Amanda and Bruno voted #BGT #BritainsGotTalent” while a different confused account put: “Oh he didn’t get through… #BGT?” Elsewhere, viewers pointed out a show trend as the magicians typically always perform card tricks.
One person said: “I’m all for magicians but why do almost all of them have card tricks? Gets a tad boring #BGT” while a different account added: “Drawn out card tricks get a tad boring…. #BGT.”
It comes as Britain’s Got Talent is in a huge ITV schedule shake-up next week.
