Couple split and shock collapse
Coronation Street viewers can expect huge drama ahead for one couple, resulting in a sad split. There’s a worrying collapse leading to a hospital visit, and later in the week one resident learns of a devastating betrayal. Maria Connor is heartbroken when she figures out something has gone on between partner Gary Windass and his ex Sarah Platt.
But that’s not all, as her teen son Liam Connor collapses in worrying scenes, amid his mental health battle. Liam was recently bullied in horrifying scenes, and it reached a dark point where he contemplated taking his own life.
In the fallout Liam has been off school and seeking help for his mental health, but his anxiety is affecting him. Next week he remains in a bad way following his return to school, and when pal Joseph Brown asks him if things have improved, Liam struggles to breathe and reaches for his inhaler.
Joseph worries about Liam and his panic attacks and urges him to tell his mum Maria how he’s feeling. Liam refuses as he doesn’t want to worry her, but he ends up making a big mistake.
Liam rummages in the cupboards for sweets, but he’s intrigued to find Paul’s stash of Benzo pills and puts them in his pocket. As he heads home he takes some, resulting in him collapsing while alone. Meanwhile, Gary watches Sarah with concern as she knocks back the wine, and he soon follows her when she heads home.
Spoilers do not reveal what happens next, but it seems something has happened. The next day, Maria returns to the flat to find Sarah and Gary looking shifty.
She picks up some things and surreptitiously places a camera on the side, unseen by Gary and Sarah. As Gary sees Sarah out, they hug and agree to keep their distance from now on.
But Maria watches them on her phone via the camera and her face darkens. By the end of the week Gary is desperate to reconcile, so it seems she confronts the pair over what she has seen. Maria declares they are over for good – but will they find a way back?
Triple return and Roy’s freedom sealed?

Coronation Street fans will see three characters make their big returns next week on the ITV soap, including one fan favourite who made an initial comeback just weeks ago. There’s also the comeback of a guest character who appeared recently, and then a villain is also back onscreen.
One of them may have new information about missing Lauren Bolton who is presumed dead, as the storyline continues next week. There’s a reconstruction being filmed, showing her last known movements – just as Roy continues to be kept in a cell, accused of her murder.
Daniel Osbourne confirms his pal Nicky Wheatley has been in touch, after he asked her to find out if anyone has heard from Lauren amongst people she is connected with. Former sex worker Nicky agreed to spread the word, after articles suggested Lauren was involved in sex work.
Nicky has kept to her word, and next week she lets Daniel know what she’s uncovered. Later in the week, Nicky calls round and reveals that she’s off to meet a girl called Ellie who was groomed as a teenager and might have information about Lauren.
But what will Nicky find out, and will we get closer to the truth about Lauren’s disappearance? Also returning next week is villain Nathan Curtis, who groomed and abused Bethany Platt seven years ago.
Bethany is left shaken when she notices a man that resembles Nathan in the crowd as the reconstruction is filmed. She soon finds out that Nathan – who she thought was still in jail – was released from prison quite a while ago and is now working on a building site nearby.
Bethany is suspicious as she soon accuses him of murdering Lauren. What will Nathan say, will the police question him and could this be good news for Roy? The final apparent return next week is Glenda’s old pal Estelle.
Family feud
Coronation Street airs a major feud for two characters next week, as a recent discovery leads to a brutal choice that could change everything. It all kicks off for siblings George and Glenda Shuttleworth, when the truth about their father’s will comes to light.
Initially, Glenda has no idea that she is entitled to half of the family business, the undertakers, currently run by George and pal Todd Grimshaw. George has found out about his sister being in the will, and he’s kept quiet. He’s forced to answer some serious questions next week though, when all is revealed.
Glenda tells a guilty George how she desperately wants to raise the money to buy the Little Big Shotz business off Estelle, unaware she actually has money or inheritance that could make that happen – if George gave her her share. He realises she can’t even get a loan, so feels terrible but does nothing about it.
When Glenda offers Estelle instalments as a way to pay her for the business, George scuppers the deal knowing she can’t afford it. But when Glenda rages over George, something Todd reveals makes the truth come out, leaving her furious.
Glenda moans to Todd about George’s act of betrayal, meaning his comments to Estelle, but Todd assumes she’s referring to Archie’s will and spills the beans, sparking a feud. Glenda threatens to sue her brother, before taking a shocking action that could change everything.
When Rupert from Rest Easy calls at the undertakers and registers his interest in buying the business, George and Todd are furious to discover Glenda has put it up for sale as revenge – but will she and George come to an agreement?
