Saturday Night Takeaway fans were left amused, as they shared their pain at having to mute the TV during a particular moment on the show.
One specific game on the series hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly sees people’s doorbells constantly being rung. Ring My Bell sees a number of audience members given the chance to win £500, if their doorbell footage appears on the screen.
Two locations flash up on the screen each time, and the person who lives there must shout out to declare it’s their home. After this, a neighbour or someone nearby must run to the doorbell holding an item chosen by Ant and Dec.
The first of the two to reach the doorbell wins £500 for themselves, and another £500 for the owner of the home. There’s normally around three rounds of the game, which means six different doorbells, if not more, can go off each episode.
Anyone with a dog will know full well the carnage this can bring, as soon as the doorbell goes off on the telly. Viewers were messaging in to confess their dogs kept barking to the sound of the constant doorbells.
One viewer even said they were forced to mute their TV every time the segment was played, to stop the chaos in their house. Taking to X, one fan posted: “Does anyone else’s dog go off at ding dong that’s my doorbell.”

A second viewer agreed: “Yep my little Frenchie goes mad.” A third fan said: “I cannot express enough how every time they do Ring My Bell I need to mute the tv before they actually ring the bell as my dogs think it’s our door bell going off.”
This isn’t the first time fans have complained about the chaos, and their dogs thinking someone is at the door. In fact, Ant and Dec issued a warning before the segment started, telling dog owners to leave their pets upstairs with ear muffs on just in case.
It comes following details being released about the grand finale, amid the series not returning next year. It was previously confirmed the show would be taking a rest by Ant and Dec.
After 22 years it will bow out in style filmed across the whole of TV Centre in London with its “biggest live show ever”, featuring sensational performances. Ant McPartlin, 48, said “We can’t believe there are only a few shows left and we’re getting closer to the end.”

He added: “This series has been very special to make and we’re looking forward to making the last show a party to end all parties. The SNT production team have been working non stop to ensure this special, two hour finale has that SNT magic from start to finish.”
And Declan Donnelly, 48, said: “The finale will be a real celebration of Saturday Night Takeaway over the years. We’re honoured and touched that for 20 series it’s been part of Saturday night TV viewing for so many families across the country. We’re giving it (and us!) a rest for now, but we’ll take away and treasure some very special memories and moments. We will most certainly miss it.”
The Star Guest Announcers for the finale show will be iconic pop group Girls Aloud. The specially extended show will also be filled with celebrity guests throughout including Ashley Roberts, S-Club, Scarlett Moffatt, Andi Peters, Kaiser Chiefs, Jordan North and Tony Hadley.
There’s also a special montage of SNT’s best bits from the past 20 series, loads more live surprises and an amazing End of the Show Show! Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway – a two hour farewell spectacular – will air on April 13 on ITV1, STV, STV Player and ITVX.
