GRIEVING Kate Garraway has pleaded for help after her council made “unsettling” demands of her late husband.

Derek Draper died on January 3 but Kate says Haringey council, in North London, is still badgering him to respond to post.

Outing them on Tuesday, the GMB star said she spent “ten days” trying to solve their insensitive onslaught but was met with silence.

She tweeted: “@haringeycouncil – please help – have been trying for ten days told to speak to someone about my husband passing away – following unsettling post making demands which obviously he can’t respond to.

“I just cannot get through. Again today nearly 50 mins wait.”

After the 56-year-old got through to an actual human being, he put her “straight back to the beginning”.

Kate said she was put on hold for another 20 minutes before lines cut off at 5pm.

“Is there a beareavement service or SOMETHING!!!!”, she slammed.

Kate has spoken candidly about losing Derek following his near four year long Covid battle.

The 56-year-old was hospitalised with the virus in March 2020 and never fully recovered.

His fight was the subject of a recent ITV documentary titled Derek’s Story, which chronicled the family’s ups and downs throughout his illness.

In the show, Kate takes viewers through the struggle the couple went through in the months before his death.

She also revealed the horrific financial toll Derek’s illness took on the family.

Kate, who went back to GMB and Smooth Radio after her husband’s death, is said to be facing medical bills of up to £800,000.

Haringey Council was approached for comment.
