Katie Piper baffled her Loose Women co-stars by revealing her very unusual morning routine.

The presenter, 40, gave viewers an insight into her day while appearing on the ITV chat show. She appeared alongside Kaye Adams, 61, Coleen Nolan, 59, and Brenda Edwards, 55, who were all left in complete shock at her revelation. Katie shared how she likes to wake up early so she can exercise before work.

She revealed her daughters Belle, 10, and Penelope, six, who she shares with husband Richard Sutton don’t like sleeping in. Katie confessed: “I get up at 4am and I exercise before I go to work, me and my neighbour go running when we wake up, if you lay in I can’t get to sleep the next night.”

Coleen appeared visibly shocked, as she stated: “At 4am in the dark you go running?” Katie said: “The latest I could lay in at this present time because my youngest is only six is max 8am because that is the latest she will sleep. Usual day if I’m coming into work at Loose Women, we have to be here by 8:30am and the journey for me is an hour and a half. So I would meet my friend at 5:45 to go running and then I would shower, change, sort the children’s bits out and so on.”

The Loose Women stars were stunned by Katie’s early alarm, and even joked she would be ready for bed as soon as the show came off air. Host Kaye quipped: “Well we need to go now it’s time for Katie to go to bed. Night night Katie.” Last month, The Mirror revealed Katie landed a huge new deal with ITV.

In a programming shake-up, Katie will become the “Queen of the Weekend” thanks to the new run of Katie Piper’s Breakfast Show – which will now be on its third series. It will air on Saturdays as well as Sundays for 22 episodes. A source told us: “It’s a massive show of confidence in Katie to not only recommission her show but to literally double it across the entire weekend. It’s little wonder she is being called the new Queen of the Weekend on the channel. Bosses have been delighted by the audience’s reaction and Katie is fast becoming one of ITV’s most loved presenters.”

Amanda Ross, Executive Producer and CEO of Cactus, which make the show, said: “I’m delighted ITV have given us the chance to produce a third series with Katie Piper, this time across the whole weekend, recognising the success of her Sunday shows last year. We will be able to showcase more of a range of Katie’s talents as Saturday and Sunday mornings will have a distinctly different vibe.”
