In this particular show each hopeless romantic is given two people to text, and has to pick one to go on a blind date with.

They are then forced to move in with both potential suitors, and have to decide which person they have more of a spark with.

At the end of the series, they will choose the one partner they want to carry on dating.

TV bosses promised big things, with an insider saying: “Love Triangle will be full of twists, turns and bombshells. It will put Love Island to shame when it comes to the amount of drama.

“They have scoured the UK for singletons to take part and there are some big characters, so there is plenty of passion. Living in a love triangle will put the singletons under pressure. But that can often bring people together.”

However, so far the show has not lived up to audience’s expectations.

A few people have been left describing Love Triangle as a budget version of Married At First Sight.

One person hit out: “So Love Triangle appears to be a combination of texting the first dates, and then married at first sight…. With an extra partner thrown in to the mix… Not convinced it’s gonna be any good…. So far snooze fest!”

Another was unhappy with the casting, complaining: “Why are we getting people on these shows who are only there to promote their Only fans pages…come on producers, must try harder.”

A third sighed: “This is just married at first sight but instead of meeting at the aisle, they meet over text instead.”

However, they were hopeful that the tension would ramp up, adding: “Still gonna have exactly the same level of drama by the looks.”
