One Piece fan theory claims he might be eyeing for a mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit to complete his collection of the strongest Devil Fruits of each type.

Since the beginning of the Egghead Island arc, fan theories have been popping up from every corner to fill up the mystery gaps in One Piece. Eiichiro Oda has provided the fans with several revelations, including the entire journey of Bartholomew Kuma, but it is never enough for them. They always want more.

The entire world seems to be involved during the ongoing arc, with every crucial pirate crew having something or the other to do. Since the Blackbeard pirates were seen to fulfill a specific mission on the futuristic island, speculation has started surrounding Marshall D. Teach’s third Devil Fruit. He has a Paramecia and a Logia type, and the fans have deduced the person from whom he is going to steal the Zoan-type Devil Fruit.

Marshall D. Teach’s journey has been pretty unique. Apart from having a special body with a unique bloodline, he has never slept. In his younger days, he joined the Whitebeard Pirates and was under Thatch’s leadership. He was always fascinated by the Yami Yami no Mi, and when Thatch found it, he killed him to consume it. It is believed to be the strongest Logia-type Devil Fruit and can nullify even Devil Fruit attacks.

During the Paramount War, his crew killed Whitebeard, and he, through some mysterious means, stole his Gura Gura no Mi to become the only person to wield two Devil Fruits. The Gura Gura no Mi is the strongest Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. Since then, fans have been speculating on him to complete the trinity of Devil Fruit and believe that his journey would end after consuming the strongest Zoan-type Devil Fruit.

Recent One Piece fan theory claims Blackbeard could be eyeing Marco’s Devil Fruit. Marco is the former first commander of the Whitebeard Pirate and ate the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix. It is a mythical Devil Fruit that grants its user instant regeneration and flight abilities. It would be the perfect Devil Fruit to conclude his hunt and focus on conquering the world. The Yami Yami no Mi can nullify attacks, but it does not block them.

Teach has to bear the pain of getting hit by the attacks, so Marco’s Devil Fruit is the best remedy for it since it will heal him instantly. Previously, Blackbeard was not strong enough to steal his Devil Fruit, but now has become a Yonko while Marco is living a peaceful life. It is the perfect moment to seize the opportunity and become the strongest individual in One Piece.

Blackbeard Is Trying Everything To Get To The One Piece

One Piece chapter 1107 revealed Marshall D. Teach’s true motive. Catarina Devon and Van Augur said that he wished to conquer the entire world. Conquering the world is not an easy task. He needs the best he can get to rise to that level. Blackbeard possesses two of the greatest Devil Fruits, and a Zoan-type Devil Fruit would bring him closer to his goal.

Blackbeard has two Road Poneglyphs and has been secretly sending his commanders all over the world to complete missions that would be beneficial in the future. It is not a difficult task for him to locate Marco the Phoenix. Moreover, since he is alone, he would not be able to defeat the Blackbeard Pirates, which could also signal Marco’s death.

But this is only speculation, and part of the latest One Piece fan theory. For years, it has been speculated that Blackbeard might target a Zoan-type Devil Fruit to fulfill his destiny. But until Eiichiro Oda confirms it, there is no way to know for sure. Only time will reveal how far the theory was viable.
