All The Reasons Why Luffy Acquiring Gear 6 Is Possible In One Piece

One Piece: Luffy Awakening Gear 6 is Highly Likely – What Will His Powers be?

As unlikely as the probability of Luffy awakening Gear 6 in ‘One Piece’ is, it is equally likely as well!

SUMMARY

Since Luffy used up Gear 5 to defeat Kaido, who wasn’t even the final villain, he’ll need to be more powerful for the future.
This calls for a powerup, which directly increases the possibility of Luffy awakening Gear 6.
Assuming this does end up happening, Luffy could achieve dominion over the very fabric of reality, making him more powerful than anyone and everyone before him.

One Piece has brought about Monkey D. Luffy sporting some of the most unimaginable superpowers through the multiple gears he has acquired and mastered over the course of time.

His most recent was Gear 5, which made its official debut in the 1071st episode of the anime and surpassed fans’ greatest imaginations with extraordinary superhuman abilities that one could’ve never expected the beloved character to possess.

Yet, as exceptionally powerful as he is in his Gear 5 form, questions have still erupted if the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates could go further than that and achieve even more exceptional superpowers than the one on display.

While there is no confirmed answer to these questions, there are some pretty viable reasons why Luffy’s awakening of Gear 6 just might happen. And making it all the more exciting are the possible powers he could explore in what could conceivably be his next most powerful gear.

All The Reasons Why Luffy Acquiring Gear 6 Is Possible In One Piece

All the heartiest fans of One Piece know about the fact that Monkey D. Luffy claimed Gear 5 to be his “very peak”; the reason why most would derive this to be a hint that there would be no further gears. However, as unlikely as it is, it is equally likely as well.

As fans saw in the anime, the new Joy Boy used his epically powered Gear 5 to defeat Kaido, who notably isn’t even the final villain. And as fans already know, the final saga has only just begun, and there is still a war impending; one that could change the entire world.

This clearly hints that there would be much more powerful antagonists in the future for the Straw Hat Pirates’ Captain to face, who would ostensibly be harder to defeat than Kaido and prove to be a greater challenge for the protagonist to face with just his Gear 5.

Hence, to put up a fair fight against them, Luffy will have to do more than just play the flexible powers of Gear 5, meaning that he would need powerups to gain more strength. This is why evolving into Gear 6 for him is inevitably possible.

Moreover, the fact that Gear 5 was widely speculated to be pulled off by the protagonist before it made its debut cannot be ignored either, since something similar could conceivably happen with the next gear as well.

However, at the same time, it is also worth noting that instead of bringing forward a sixth gear, Eiichiro Oda could decide to bring about new and more powerful than ever sub-forms of Gear 5, the same way he did with Gear 4.

Thus, even though there are many options, either way, Monkey D. Luffy will end up getting more powerful than what fans saw him in Gear 5 if he truly wishes to defeat the evil antagonists and protect his friends.

If Luffy Acquires Gear 6, How Powerful Could He Be?

Assuming that Monkey D. Luffy does end up acquiring Gear 6 the same way that he awakened Gear 5, there are a lot of powerups and superpowers that could be explored further in the storyline of One Piece.

As of now, from Gear 1, 2, and 3, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates can go so far as increasing the speed of his blood which helps him withstand heavy damages and land equally, if not more, devastating blows and combine his increased power with Busoshoku Haki to completely crush his enemies with his overblown bones.

Then there are Gears 4 and 5, which have allowed him to inflate his muscles to an extraordinary extent, capsizing anyone and everyone in his way, all the while landing unimaginable attacks thanks to the awakening of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika form inside of him, making him incredibly powerful.

So if he does end up acquiring Gear 6, Luffy could easily go to unbelievable extents and do whatever he wants. This could include not only elevating his powers to whole new limits but also exercising them the most perfectly.

For some ideas, he could manipulate his shape and size as efficiently as ever; molding, stretching, and even hardening it in such a way that the enemy isn’t able to figure out how to surpass it even in his wildest dreams. He could achieve dominion over the very fabric of reality, making him more powerful than anyone and everyone before him.

While these are merely a few physical tricks that they could explore, Monkey D. Luffy could go even farther, thanks to Eiichiro Oda’s magnificent imagination, and become such a version of himself that is able to defeat even Son Goku’s most powerful form in a probable One Piece and Dragon Ball universe crossover (which inevitably sounds incredibly fun!)
