Toei Animation’s popular One Piece anime has released 15 new visuals for Luffy’s upcoming birthday on May 5, 2024, teasing more “epic” celebrations in store for fans in the coming weeks.
Per a press release, Toei Animation has released 15 new visuals of the Straw Hats, inspired by iconic shots from the anime series. From Luffy receiving Shanks’ straw hat and his adventures in Alabasta, to departing the Going Merry and his adventures in Saboady and the New World, the visuals are a great reminder of the One Piece anime’s enduring legacy, which turns 25 this October. Joining the One Piece visuals was the announcement of multiple giant inflatable Luffy balloons set to fly across the skies of Europe. Crunchyroll also announced that One Piece Season 14 Voyage 15, featuring the iconic “Gear 5” Episode 1071, is coming to the platform, as well as the release date for several One Piece specials for fans in the United States, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
One Piece Gears Up to Celebrate Luffy’s Birthday in Style in 2024
Luffy’s birthday falling on the One Piece anime’s 25th anniversary makes it extra special. Fans recently learned of the anniversary video game One Piece Odyssey‘s Nintendo Switch release date. Meanwhile, Boston Red Sox fans were treated to a one-night special One Piece celebration featuring cosplay, music and more. Japanese fans received “Anytime One Piece” — a 24/7 YouTube channel — while the world looks ahead to the One Piece remake, titled The One Piece, uniting old fans and new where it all started.
