Cameron Brink shared her face time story with Steph Curry right before getting drafted in the WNBA.

Another member of Stephen Curry‘s family has joined professional basketball now. The sharp shooter’s god sister Cameron Brink has been drafted as the second overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA. After playing at Stanford Cardinal for four years, the Pac-12 defensive player of the year is ready to take her talents to the big league.

Given her basketball-talented family, there are high expectations from the 22-year-old to leave her mark in the WNBA. Before heading for the draft on Monday, however, Brink shared a hilarious story about her god-brothers Stephen Curry and Seth Curry showcasing their close bond.

Right before I came here I FaceTimed Steph…and he was saying all these encouraging words, laughing with me, and then we Facetimed Seth and he hangs up immediately.

The relationship between Curry and Brink came as a surprise to many NBA netizens. The duo has been close since their childhood and the Golden State Warriors guard has also shown support for Brink throughout her college basketball career. The Warriors superstar even attended Stanford’s game against USC, where Brink broke the franchise’s block record.

Brink had an amazing resume as the Stanford Cardinal forward. Despite Brink’s specialty being different than Curry as she thrives on the defensive side of the court, the star still plays an essential role for her team, just like her brother. She can also score as she almost averaged in double-double during her senior year. The forward is a great addition to the Sparks and has the ability to take the team to the finals.

Steph Curry predicted Cameron Brink’s 2nd pick in the draft

Curry had been excited about Brink joining the WNBA ever since she announced for the draft. The star made a hilarious video to show his support for Brink’s new journey. Hence, it was certain that Curry would not hesitate to shower his god-sister with encouragement for the most important night of her career.

During the draft, Curry showed his support for Brink by cheering her on through social media. He posted an Instagram story while she was being interviewed, indicating his excitement for the draft. Curry had predicted that Brink would be a top 2 pick, and his prediction was spot-on when Brink was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks right after Caitlin Clark was chosen by the Indiana Fever.

The class of 2024 is undoubtedly one of the best WNBA draft batches. The women of this year are responsible for the huge evolvement of the NCAA women’s tournament. Hence, Brink’s second pick among this batch speaks for the young athlete’s potential itself.
