Neymar threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Miami Marlins MLB season opener on Thursday – the day after he went for drinks with David Beckham in the city.

The Brazil star saw his throw caught by Marlins star Luis Arraez to loud cheers at loanDepot park, and the striker saluted the crowd with a big smile and finger wave into the air.

The Marlins even shared a video of Neymar’s visit on their X (Twitter) account and he also posed for a picture with Nick Gordon, Jazz Chisolm Jr and Arraez before their game against Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Brazilian is currently recovering from surgery to repair anterior cruciate ligaments and meniscus injuries in his left knee – an injury that rules him out of this summer’s Copa America, which is held in the United States.

The 32-year-old’s appearance on the mound for the Marlins game came a day after he went out with David Beckham, the Inter Miami co-owner, and his wife Victoria. Neymar shared pictures from his night out on Wednesday and Thursday on his Instagram.

The duo were tagged in a picture with David Grutman, the owner of several restaurants in Miami including Gekko, where they spent their Wednesday night.

Grecko, a Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant, is a celebrity hotspot in Miami. Owner Grutman appears to be close friends with Beckham and is a regular at Miami’s Major League Soccer games.

While he’s in town, Neymar could be tempted to reunite with his former Barcelona attackers in Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, with both of course now playing for Beckham’s Miami team.

Together in Spain, the trio spearheaded Barcelona’s charge to Champions League glory in 2015.

Neymar moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and later played with Messi again – the Argentina World Cup winner spent two year in the French capital from 2021 before his blockbuster MLS move.

Neymar now plays for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, moving from Paris in 2023. While some MLS fans may see Neymar and Beckham dining together and ponder if he is moving to the United States, he currently has a contract with the Saudi league team until 2025.

And given that Neymar was one of the league’s landmark signings, it would likely cost an astronomical fee for him to leave for anyone, let alone Inter Miami.

During his time in Miami, Neymar also made it to the Miami Heat NBA game on Tuesday night – they lost 113-92 to Golden State Warriors.
