Boa Hancock is a crucial character in One Piece and ever since she was introduced, fans knew that she was going to be a major part of Luffy’s Journey to becoming the Pirate King. Hancock has stood the test of time, maintaining her popularity in the series despite hardly ever appearing. However, there is certainly a massive reason as to why Hancock doesn’t appear in the story all that often.
Boa Hancock is a massively important character in more ways than one, and it is clear for the fans to see that Oda has been saving her for the Final Saga specifically. Here, she has a massive role to play, and that has all the fans excited, undoubtedly.
Who Is Boa Hancock?
The Former Shichibukai Is A Special Individual
Boa Hancock was introduced in One Piece as a Shichibukai, which means that she was a pirate allied with the World Government, giving them her strength, and in return, gaining a certain level of freedom despite being a pirate, from the government. Of course, despite Hancock having the status as a government-allied pirate, she hardly ever cared about what the Government wanted. Hancock always followed her own heart and did what she wanted to do. In the beginning, she was even portrayed to be somewhat insensitive, however, later on, Oda added a tremendous amount of depth to her character, which explained to the fans why she was the way she was.
When Oda explored the past of Hancock, it was clear for the fans to see that she suffered tremendously long ago. Hancock was a slave of the World Government at one point, and was force-fed the entertain the evil Celestial Dragons. Thankfully, Hancock managed to escape when Fisher Tiger attacked Marijoa. Ever since then, she was taken care of by Rayleigh, and Gloriosa, and eventually, she returned to Amazon Lily.
Hancock was then made the captain of the Kuja Pirates, and just after a single voyage, she was given an 80 million berry bounty, which just went on to show how dangerous she truly was. Immediately after this voyage, Hancock was also given the position of Shichibukai, and ever since then, she has taken full advantage of this position, protecting herself, her sisters, and her people from the evil of the World Government.
Boa Hancock played a massive role in One Piece shortly before the timeskip, specifically in the Summit War Saga. Luffy was sent to Amazon Lily by Kuma for an unknown reason, and there, he came face-to-face with Hancock. Although these two did not get along all that well in the beginning, eventually, they became the best of friends, with Hancock even falling in love with the Straw Hat Pirate. It was only because of Hancock that Luffy was even able to attempt to save his brother. Had it not been for her, Luffy would most certainly have died in the Paramount War. She also kept him safe after the war. Luffy and Hancock fostered a very deep bond of friendship, and both of them care tremendously about each other, which only means that Hancock will come into play at some point later down the line.
Boa Hancock In The Final Saga
Hancock Has Already Engaged In Difficult Battles
After the timeskip of One Piece, Boa Hancock has not appeared in the story all that much. She was the one who got Luffy back to Sabaody, but after that, fans did not see much of her until much later in the story. It was after the abolition of the Shichibukai system that Hancock started playing a bigger role in the story. The Marines surrounded her island immediately, and Hancock decided to fight back, nearly single-handedly erasing a significant portion of the Navy. That is when Blackbeard attacked, and Hancock found herself in quite a bit of trouble. Thankfully, Rayleigh showed up just in time and saved the day.
From there onwards, Hancock has actually had somewhat of an interesting role assigned, and fans are very intrigued to see where she will go next. The attack of the Navy and the Blackbeard Pirates really made it clear to Hancock that she could not stay on Amazon Lily any longer.
Hancock herself knew this, and it was clear for the fans to see that she would have to leave the Island. Now that Hancock has to leave, the question of where she will go next opens up. This also opens up an exciting door for her character later down the line.
Boa Hancock’s Important Role In The Final Saga
Boa Hancock Will Return In The Next Arcs
Boa Hancock is certainly going to play an absolutely massive role in the Final Saga of One Piece. For one, fans know that she is to leave Amazon Lily, which means that she might end up traveling the seas soon. With the world of One Piece being very turbulent right now, Hancock will most certainly find herself in a bit of trouble here and there. Fans also know the fact that Hancock is hunted by the World Government at this point in time. At the same time, Blackbeard is also after her ability. She can’t stay behind, and instead, she will have to find safety and somewhere for them. The only person who can truly trust is Luffy, which means that Hancock will be looking to reunite with Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates at some point in the story.
Hancock should already have left Amazon Lily Levi now, which means that she should be headed towards where Luffy is right now. At the moment, Luffy is on Egghead, and Hancock would have had more than enough time to start today sailing towards him. However, making it to Egghead is impossible in a short amount of time that she has. Instead, Hancock would more likely be headed towards Elbaf, as the world knows that is most likely going to be Luffy’s next destination.
It is highly likely that Hancock will end up playing a major role in the Elbaf arc of One Piece, and fans are eager to see her get involved in the story. As to what her big role is going to be, Hancock will most likely be involved in the war against the World Government. She is an individual who suffered tremendously at the hands of the Government, and, as such, is most definitely going to be one to take up arms against them and destroy them. When the war against the Government begins, Hancock is going to be one of the fighters on the front lines. It shouldn’t be a surprise to the fans if Hancock ends up fighting a very powerful member of the Government.
A fight against the likes of the Holy Knights, the Five Elders, or anyone else involved directly in her trauma is going to be important. Hancock’s major role in the Final Saga is going to be to aid Luffy in the fight against the World Government, dismantle the evil Celestial Dragons completely, and help pave the way to the creation of a new world order. Hancock is going to be a very important ally of the Sun God Nika, and her aid will eventually help Luffy fulfill the will of D.
