The Five Elders have recently made their presence known in the final saga of One Piece, and it is safe to say that they rank among the strongest individuals in the entire world, with strength that rivals that of the Four Emperors of the Sea, possibly being even stronger. The Gorosei are monstrously powerful, with each of them holding the powers of a creature with formidable strength, and above all, the possible power of immortality.

The Five Elders are incredibly difficult to take down for anyone in combat, however, there are some who can possibly stand a chance against them in battle.

This list includes characters who can take down a single member of the Five Elders, and not all five.

5Monkey D. Dragon

Monkey D. Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army and surely one of the strongest individuals that the fans have seen in the entire story. Dragon is the world’s worst criminal, and his goal is to create an army that becomes strong enough to topple the World Government. Dragon possesses tremendous skill and while he hasn’t shown his true fighting prowess yet, his standing as the leader of the Revolutionary Army automatically makes him a contender for being the strongest.

Dragon is also in his prime right now, and, for that reason, one can understand how he can rival the Five Elders, and if he manages to get past their regeneration, then he can possibly kill one after a hard-fought battle.

4Blackbeard

Blackbeard is one of the mightiest individuals sailing the seas of the One Piece world at this point in time. He is one of the Four Emperors of the sea, and he has a bounty of 3.996 billion berries on his head. Blackbeard has two powers in his arsenal. The first one is the strongest Logia, the Yami Yami no Mi, which allows him to control darkness and suck in everything, and the second one is the strongest Paramecia, the Gura Gura no Mi, which allows him to produce vibrations and create quakes capable of potentially destroying even the entire world.

Blackbeard is one individual that can defeat the Five Elders, thanks to the tremendous powers that he possesses. If the Five Elders’ Yokai ability works similarly to Devil Fruits, then his Yami Yami no Mi is going to be key to getting around their regeneration. On top of that, he has the power of the Gura Gura no Mi to utterly destroy them.

3Shanks

The red-haired Emperor, Shanks is one of the strongest pirates on the seas right now, arguably being at the top of them all. Until now, Shanks was keeping his true strength hidden, since he was not going all out in the quest for the One Piece. Now that the Final Saga has kickstarted, Shanks is getting serious and fans will see a completely different side of him.

Shanks is a monstrously powerful individual with Haki that is unmatched by any other character so far. His strength is immaculate and he will most definitely do incredibly well against one of the Five Elders. Shanks can potentially kill one too, and given that he himself is a former celestial dragon, perhaps he would know how to get around the regeneration. If he does, then he would be the undisputed winner of the fight.

2Monkey D. Luffy

Luffy, also known as the Sun God Nika, is the warrior of liberation and the holder of the most ridiculous power in the entire world. Luffy, in his Nika form, has already squared up against the Five Elders. He is incredibly difficult to take on in battle for anyone, be it a Yonko, an Admiral, or a member of the Gorosei.

Luffy has already shown that he can overpower an Elder in a fight, however, he cannot get around the regeneration, as of yet. However, if Luffy figures that out, then it will most definitely be a fight that he can win.

1Imu

Of course, the one who sits above even the Five Elders, Imu is a character who will most likely be the strongest within the World Government. Imu possesses a unique power that the fans have not seen just yet. Eventually, Oda will reveal Imu’s abilities to the fans, and showcase them to be one of the strongest in the world.

It should not come as a surprise to the fans that Imu, who rules even over the Five Elders, would be stronger than them. Imu is likely going to be the ultimate villain for Luffy to take on in combat, and this directly implies that the Five Elders cannot beat him. Of course, fans have not seen much of Imu in combat just yet. That said, Imu seems to possess an arrow-like ability that he used to kill Cobra and also deal deadly damage to Sabo. More about his transformation as well as their powers will be revealed to the fans later down the line.
