One Piece: How Many Arcs Wil the Final Saga Have?

The long-anticipated climax to a legendary shonen manga, One Piece, is finally in sight. However, the path to the end remains enshrouded in mysteries. This article attempts to unravel these mysteries and speculate the number of arcs that the final saga may comprise.

The Anticipation Surrounding One Piece’s Final Saga

There’s no doubt that the final saga of One Piece is one of the most anticipated finales in shonen manga history. The series has been serialized for almost three decades, and the pressure is immense on Eiichiro Oda to conclude the epic tale in a manner that justifies the years of work put into it.

Despite being in its final act, the story still has unresolved plot points that need tying up. While the Egghead Arc, which opens the Final Saga, is nearing its conclusion, the path ahead remains uncertain. Based on these factors, can we speculate how many more arcs are left in the final saga of One Piece?

The Unresolved Mysteries of One Piece

The most prominent lingering question is about the nature of the One Piece treasure. Other crucial mysteries are related to the Void Century, the Ancient Weapons, the Poneglyphs, the Great Kingdom, and Joy Boy. All these threads are interconnected through the events of the great war that led to the formation of the World Government.

Further mysteries surround the Five Elders and Imu, their potential immortality, and their abilities. There are also many questions about the origins and true nature of Devil Fruits, along with the Will of the D., which could prove crucial in the long run.

What the Egghead Arc Has Set Up So Far

Arcs

As the Egghead Arc nears its end, it paves the way for many speculations for the upcoming Elbaf Arc, as well as the story arcs to follow. Vegapunk is set to reveal the truth of the One Piece world, which may address many of the mysteries mentioned above.

Should the Five Elders succeed in halting the transmission of Vegapunk’s message, the story will carry a lot more unanswered questions as it shifts into the Elbaf Arc. However, if the entire message is broadcasted, there will be a significant shift in the global balance of power on the seas, especially if the truth about the Void Century or the World Government’s origins come to light.

To Elbaf And Beyond

There are significant reunions awaiting in Elbaf. From Nico Robin and Jaguar D. Saul’s reunion to Luffy’s confrontation with Shanks after becoming an Emperor of the Sea, these events are likely to shed light on more secrets from the Void Century.

After Elbaf, whether the crew will travel directly to Laugh Tale or journey to more destinations before claiming the One Piece remains a mystery. There will certainly be more battles that need to happen, beginning with Blackbeard’s foreshadowed fight against Shanks, Luffy confronting Ace’s killer Akainu, and the climactic showdown against the Five Elders and Imu. This suggests at least two or three more arcs at the minimum, unless a ferocious battle royale is in the cards.

A War To Change The Entire World

The prospect of a final war has been built up for quite some time. Whether this war will be against the World Government itself or between other factions is yet to be determined. However, it’s unmistakable that One Piece will feature a massive battle in its final act.

A conflict of such massive scale would require at least one arc of build-up and another one for the actual events of the war itself. By conservative estimates, this leaves the Final Saga with around four or five arcs, or even six or seven at the most. However, it’s hard to imagine One Piece wrapping up in the next one or two arcs. With Egghead nearing its end and Elbaf soon to come, it’s reasonable to expect at least three or perhaps even four more arcs until the Straw Hats reach the end of their journey.
