Fans have been following Zoro’s journey from the very beginning of One Piece, and to this day, he has progressed quite a lot. He aims to become the world’s greatest swordsman, and that is not an easy task for anyone to accomplish.

To achieve this, Zoro needed to go through many obstacles and now, he’s within touching distance of his goal, much of which is down to the recent power-ups that he has gained. One of the strongest abilities that Zoro possesses at this point in time is his mighty King of Hell form, and this could eventually lead to him developing his strongest power yet, that is, the King of Hell Asura.

Zoro’s Asura is a powerful manifestation of its spirit that he first unleashed during the Enies Lobby arc. Throughout this arc, there were hints about Zoro having a demonic manifestation. When Zoro was in the Tower of Justice and was cutting through the World Government officials and Marines, he was subconsciously bringing out his spirit and manifesting it in the real world. It was as if a Demon had manifested itself and this was something that was noticed by every single member of the Marines at that time. Later on, during his fight against Kaku, this demonic manifestation grew stronger and stronger. At one point, Kaku felt that Zoro was almost bending his swords, and this was only down to the demonic aura that they were giving off.

Eventually, Zoro’s demonic aura turned into a proper manifestation of a three-headed, six-armed individual named Asura. Zoro was able to manifest this power and triple his attacking output. Essentially, his three sword style became nine sword style, and these techniques were incredibly difficult for Kaku to counter. He wasn’t able to stand his ground against Zoro and immediately ended up losing. This power was way too great for him to face at that point, and Zoro has only brought it out on rare occasions in the story. After the fight against Kaku, Zoro only brought it out once, and that was on Sabaody, where he fought a Pacifista with the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Hey, Kaido! If you wanna crush anyone’s skull you’ll have to start with mine!

After the timeskip of One Piece, Zoro once again made use of Asura, however, this was only when his back was against the wall. Zoro knew that he had to go all out in an attempt to take down Kaido. He clearly mentioned to Law that if his strongest attack doesn’t work, then he has nothing in his arsenal that can actually do anything more. In a last-ditch effort, Zoro unleashed the power of Asura against Kaido and utilized a technique called Dead Man’s Game. This technique was quite strong and it even managed to scar Kaido, after overpowering him briefly. However, the true power of this nine sword style was brought out by the Conqueror’s Haki that Zoro had unknowingly infused in his swords. This is why Kaido was scarred in the first place.

Essentially, fans have already seen a glimpse of Zoro’s King of Hell Asura. To understand the King of Hell Asura, fans first have to understand what the King of Hell truly is. Simply put, King of Hell is Zoro’s strongest form. In this form, Zoro takes his swords and channels both Conqueror’s and Armament Haki through them unregulated. When he does this, the incredibly overpowering amount of Haki that he puts into his sword becomes dangerous for anyone to face. Essentially, the King of Hell state in itself implies that Zoro has conquered Enma because that sword is the ruler of Hell. Zoro being the King of Hell implies that he has used his Conqueror’s Haki and essentially controlled the blade. This sword allows Zoro to channel his Conqueror’s Haki and best his enemies.

How should I stabilize my Haki then? If I have to keep exuding it at this rate, It’ll kill me.

King of Hell is a very powerful form, however, the only downside of this form is that Zoro cannot maintain it for long. Zoro can only utilize it for a few minutes and it can potentially even kill him if he overdoes it. With both Armament and Conqueror’s Haki flowing through his blades, Zoro was even able to defeat King the Wildfire, which was quite a feat for him to accomplish.

That is precisely where the King of Hell Asura formed comes in. Right now, Zoro’s strongest form is the King of Hell, and Asura is also a very powerful ability that he has. However, his strongest power in the future is most definitely going to be the King of Hell Asura. Essentially, this power-up would allow Zoro to utilize nine powerful swords, all flowing with Conqueror’s Haki.

Roronoa Zoro

Zoro’s King of Hell Asura is most definitely going to be his strongest power in the story. For now, Zoro has already proven the fact that he’s strong enough to beat a Yonko First Mate with his King of Hell form. However, this power is not going to be enough for Zoro to defeat Mihawk, who is in the same range as the Yonko of the One Piece World. Clearly, Mihawk is on a completely different level and if Zoro was hardly able to beat King, then he would stand absolutely no chance against Mihawk as he is now. Zoro still has to strengthen his Haki, and above all, his attacking output if he is to defeat someone like the World’s Strongest Swordsman. This is where the power of the Nine Sword Style King of Hell comes in and Zoro will most definitely utilize this power at some point in this battle against Mihawk.

So you intend to become a King? – King to Zoro

When these two characters face off, Zoro will need all his strength put into his blades in order to eliminate Mihawk from the top and claim the position for himself. This would require Zoro to utilize Conqueror’s and Armament Haki at the absolute highest level and attain more attacking power. Only with these abilities can he overwhelm Mihawk and cut him down so that he can claim the position of the strongest for himself, and fulfill his promise to both Kuina and Luffy.

Of course, there is still some time until Zoro reaches that level of strength, however, fans can rest assured that this power-up is on the way, and it will likely be his very final power-up in One Piece. Fans simply need to sit back and wait to see how the story shapes up from here onwards, and how Zoro attains this power.
