Nikola Jokic, on Wednesday, bagged his third NBA MVP in the last four seasons. The Nuggets center won the award quite handsomely with 926 points in the voting process, 286 points ahead of the second-placed Shai-Gilgeous Alexander.
The franchise shared a video on social media as a tribute to their center, which was narrated by Jokic’s wife, Natalija. Jokic was seen watching the video with their daughter, Ognjena as her wife narrated, “How the unlikely became like. Nikola Jokic to others, an unmatched talent, to us, an unselfish family man. outsiders may see him as unconventional or unorthodox, but we have always seen him as unbelievable.”
The 6-time NBA All-Star by then was sharing the screen with his enthusiastic daughter as the narration continued, “It may be unlikely that a proud Serbian drafted as the overlooked 41st pick would achieve a status only a few have reached. But when you play your cards right, anything is likely. Behind the scars and the smile lies the work, lies the belief that you will be great and we will always believe in ourselves. Now three-time MVP.”
Jokic seemed emotionally overwhelmed by the end of the footage and thanked everyone for the amazing tribute. The Serbian’s wife has been on his side through the highs and the lows and the special moment was no different.

Nikola Jokic and Natalija have known each other since their high school days. Both of them are from Sombor, Serbia, where they met sometime around their high school years back in 2012. In 2013 Natalija moved to the USA to play volleyball at Seminole State College in Oklahoma.
In 2015, Jokic got drafted by the Nuggets, and since then, the couple have stayed together in Denver. In October 2020, they tied the knot and the couple welcomed their daughter, Ognjena a year later.
Natalija has been a regular in the Nuggets games, seen cheering on the team from the stands. She was also filmed during the recent altercation between a fan and Jokic’s brother, Strahinja. The latest narration from her only shows the deep love and bond the couple have as they add another joyous occasion to their lives.
