The Los Angeles Lakers’ 5-game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Indiana Pacers. To add insult to injury, the Pacers took the opportunity to troll Lakers fans with crying filters on the jumbotron. A video of the hilarious event has now come out open. The Lakers lost the game by 19 points.
The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Pacers team they beat a few days back in record-setting fashion. This game did not have the same story. During the closing stages, the Pacers used the opportunity to troll several Lakers fans who had traveled to support the Lakers. Instead, they were subject to the crying filter by the Pacers media team, as used in social media. The hilarious images were displayed on the jumbotron to make the troll humorous for all.
The Lakers shot woefully from the 3-point line, only scoring 16.7% of their 3’s. Most notably, all starters converted only 3 of their 21 combined 3-point attempts. They also committed double the turnovers the Pacers had. All this resulted in the lowest points the Pacers have held any team to this season.
The most storied franchise in the league hoped to continue their winning streak. The Los Angeles Lakers have to play catch-up in their remaining road games. If they can win the remaining games, they can skip the play-in and directly enter the playoffs.
Indiana Pacers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in a must-win game
On the other hand, the Indiana Pacers can take a sigh of relief after defeating the Lakers. After all, they are also trying to get ahead in the rankings above the play-in spots. They went through a rough patch when superstar Tyrese Haliburton was out injured. With him healthy again and playing alongside trade recipient Pascal Siakam, the Pacers have the capability to secure a strong finish to the regular season.

When Siakam joined the young squad, the Pacers’ chemistry looked off. Fortunately, they had a couple of situations going in their favor during that time. Injuries to fellow Eastern Conference playoff teams such as the Philadelphia 76ers helped alleviate some pressure. Moreover, the solid chemistry developing between the new starting 5 has helped them hold onto the 6th seed spot.
A loss to the Los Angeles Lakers would have resulted in catastrophe. The Miami Heat would have the chance to catch up to them as the Pacers face them in the coming days. Hence, the win over the Lakers became vital. The Rick Carlisle-led team needs to finish out the season strong to advance into the playoffs.
