Lionel Messi‘s bodyguard interrupted Inter Miami’s win at Sporting Kansas City to tackle a fan as he attempted to get close to the Argentina superstar.
Yassine Cheuko has been tasked with protecting Messi since the World Cup winner arrived in Major League Soccer last summer.
The bodyguard, who came to Miami from Paris having protected Messi at Paris Saint-Germain, stalks the touchline during MLS games.
And he was called into action during Saturday night’s 3-2 win over Sporting KC. In the closing minutes of the game, Cheuko sprinted on to the field – prompting the referee to pause the match.
The bodyguard had spotted a fan running from behind one of the goals towards Messi – who was facing the opposite direction.
