LeBron James sitting next to Anthony Davis

Los Angeles Lakers were swept by the Denver Nuggets last Monday night, there was nothing either Anthony Davis or LeBron James could do in order to prevent that from happening. This is the second straight season in which the ‘Purple & Gold’ gets swept by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray’s Nuggets. With this loss still fresh in the players, the talk of the town is LeBron James’ future and his potential exit from the Lakers. Many have already started speculating on potential places for LeBron to play next season. Others are already starting to make trades in their heads that would bring another great players like Kevin Durant to the Lakers in a sensational trade that doesn’t include LeBron. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis has a clear path to follow.

Anthony Davis’ plan to keep LeBron at the Lakers

For Anthony Davis, being able to win the NBA championship in 2020 meant that he did it alongside one of the greatest NBA players of all time. Although they did win inside the famous bubble, that doesn’t change the fact that these Lakers managed to lift the trophy and enjoyed an unforgettable moment. But since that happened, these Lakers haven’t been able to win another championship over the last four seasons. That alone should be more than enough reason for James to try out a different team. When asked about that possibility, Anthony Davis has a clear plan to keep LeBron James in Los Angeles. He said: “Good thing about it is I’m gonna be with him all summer… He knows how I feel about him.”

Aside from the great possibility of putting Davis and James together with Kevin Durant, there is another chance to convince LeBron that he should remain with the Lakers. Should his son Bronny play in the NBA next season, The Athletic reports that the team from Los Angeles is open for trading in order to bring Bronny to the team and allow James to fulfill his dream to play with his son. If this happens, Lakers fans can at least be certain that James might remain a Laker during the final years of his career. But for now, his future remains uncertain until further notice.
