Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was shot at a club during a mass shooting in Florida.

According to police, a 16-year-old teenager opened fire, wounding ten people, including 24-year-old Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell. The 24-year-old NFL star sustained a ‘minor wound,’ his team confirmed in a statement.

The shooting took place at Cabana Live, a party venue in Sanford, Florida. The Seminole County Sheriff’s office said none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, and a 16-year-old was arrested. The second shooter remains unidentified and has not been taken into custody as of yet.

Dell, who began his rookie season in 2023 after being drafted by the Texans, was sent to the hospital for his injuries and has since been released and “is in good spirits.”

In the meantime, a picture has surfaced online showing just how dangerously close Tank Dell was to not only the teenage shooter but the second one as well.

Tank Dell is fortunate to be alive.

The Texans selected Dell, a native of neighboring Daytona Beach, Florida, in the third round of the 2023 draft. Before his rookie season was cut short in December during a game against the Denver Broncos, he amassed 709 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Dell could be seen moving away from the action as he stopped to signal to some people, just as shots could be seen coming from behind and in front of him.

The defendant was charged with attempted murder, using a firearm while committing a crime, shooting a weapon in a public place, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor after being committed to a juvenile center.
