A former NFL safety has been arrested this week for shooting at a car with children inside.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, a woman accused William Moore of shooting at her car at Alexander Park in Lawrenceville, Georgia after they responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Sunday.

Moore was not known to the woman at the time but was later identified. She told the officers the incident stemmed from her nine-year-old niece getting into a playground altercation with his daughter.

According to police, the woman tried to drive away from the scene but Moore blocked her with his car before puncturing one of her tires with a screwdriver. She still made attempts to leave but accidentally hit Moore’s car, prompting him to shoot at her vehicle. The bullet struck the driver’s side door; fortunately, no one was hurt.

The incident was caught on video.

Police would later stop a vehicle matching the description given to them by the woman and detained Moore, who was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of felony criminal damage to property in the second degree, and one count of felony possession of a firearm or knife during the commission, as well as two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.

His bond was set at $21,7000.

Moore was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2009 and was a Pro Bowler in 2012. He was released by the team in 2016, with two years remaining on his contract.
