CeeDee Lamb breaks silence on his future with Cowboys despite rumors of him potentially holding out

Cowboys Nation, rest assured, CeeDee Lamb is staying put. However, it’s a race against time to keep the wide receiver in Arlington for a longer period.

Besides Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys have a list of players whose contract requires urgent attention. Lamb, edge rusher Micah Parsons, would want to see themselves get paid handsomely. Otherwise, the Dallas team risks losing all of them next year.

Yet owner Jerry Jones isn’t keen on showing interest in tying down any of them. The Cowboys are dead set on playing hardball and measuring out their players.

Dallas Morning News’ Michael Gehlken highlighted that players are unsatisfied with their current earnings. CeeDee Lamb is one of them who reportedly could hold out for a sweet deal.

The former first-round pick will earn around $17.99 million in 2024 after the Cowboys triggered his fifth-year option back in April 2023. Lamb repaid the extension with several Cowboys records.

With 1,749 yards from 135 catches in 2023, CeeDee Lamb became the franchise’s single-season reception leader along with the receiving yard leader, bagging his third Pro Bowl nod and first All-Pro call-up. He surpassed 150 yards four times, which included a monumental 225-yard haul.

CeeDee Lamb will stay in Dallas

Despite the blockbuster regular-season performance, the Cowboys once again made Stephen A. Smith laugh his heart out by falling short in the wild-card game. Surprisingly, Lamb was a complete no-show in that game at home against the Green Bay Packers.

It was all in the past, and the 25-year-old is looking to the future. And according to TMZ, he revealed that he doesn’t see himself anywhere else besides in Dallas.

Yeah, I'll be in Dallas! I'm looking forward to winning, being out there with my guys, and making another run at this thing.

CeeDee Lamb said

If the Dallas Cowboys have been serious about winning a Super Bowl since the ’90s, then they must keep hold of their best players. The longer they wait, the more impatient the player and the fans will become, which could affect the relationship.

Jones can easily extend Lamb’s contract today or even tomorrow. He will want a paycheck close to the $30 million the Miami Dolphins are paying Tyreek Hill. The ideal scenario would be to get it done before the OTAs and Minicamp, which will take place after the NFL Draft on May 24 and June 4.
