Forced to Be ‘Quiet’, Patrick Mahomes’ Mom Randi Shares Woes of Being a ‘Tennis Mom’ While Cheering for Daughter

Mia has been in the limelight with her older brother Patrick Mahomes‘ success in the NFL in recent years. She was spotted celebrating on the field as the quarterback won his second consecutive Super Bowl, cheering for her brother’s revered achievement. While she is inevitably a football fan, the 12-year-old also plays tennis at her school, indicating her passion for participating in sports as well. Randi, as always, is her biggest support system, but transitioning from a football mom to a tennis mom can get exhausting!

While Randi is used to cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs from the bleachers, tennis is still an unexplored territory for the Mahomes matriarch. On one hand, Football is a passionate sport, and fans love showing their support for the players pompously from the sidelines. However, tennis is relatively quieter and entails a different vibe on the court, with the viewers expected to be far more silent in order to let the players concentrate better. The Texas mother experienced the contrast first-hand with Mia’s recent game.

Randi expressed that she’s “still very new” to being a “tennis mom” and shared how she was “shushed” when she tried cheering her daughter. She shared an Instagram story talking about her experience, remarking, “Being a tennis mom & football mom is quite the opposite. I got shushed yesterday & obviously, you can’t talk to your child while they play. How am I suppose to be quiet? exhausting trying not to cheer.”
