“It’s Just Basketball”- LeBron James Gets Real About Rough Losing Streak Against Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are in a good position to beat the Los Angeles Lakers in two consecutive NBA seasons. The Lakers lost Game 3 and will now have to leave early. The Denver Nuggets are currently leading the Los Angeles Lakers 0-3 in the NBA playoffs. After losing 105-112 to the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers’ star player, LeBron James, talked about their third straight loss in an interview.
LeBron said that it was just basketball. When asked whether the Lakers must play nearly flawless basketball to have a chance of defeating the Nuggets, James explained why pressure is unavoidable during the playoffs.
“It’s the postseason. We’re professionals. You’re supposed to have anxiety and pressure, feel the pressure, that’s what it’s about. That’s what the postseason is about. So I don’t know how to answer that question; I don’t know. I don’t know. You have to ask the individuals that question and see how they feel. It’s hard for me to be like, ‘This is what I think.’ I can’t do that; I’m not a mind reader. I don’t know. We know what it takes to win, what it takes to win a championship, and how damn near perfect you got to be. I’ve been a part of it four times, where you have to have almost perfect basketball to win. I’m not a guy that you should ask that because I don’t feel a way about anybody that doesn’t want to strive to be as close to perfect as possible. And it’s just basketball. At the end of the day, it’s just basketball. And I’ve done it with him.” LeBron James said.
LeBron James Breaks Down Lakers’ Ability to Handle Pressure
It seems that LeBron James’ recent statement was driven by his disappointment at not getting enough support from his team. In the last game, only James, Anthony Davis, and Austin Reaves scored for the Lakers, while the rest of the team contributed only 24 points.
The Lakers are now down 0-3 in the series against the Nuggets. Davis played an exceptional game, finishing with 33 points and 15 rebounds.
LeBron James also had a good game with 26 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds, but it was not enough to overcome the Lakers’ poor shooting and recurring tendency to lose leads in the second half. The Nuggets have been consistently punishing the Lakers for their mistakes, which has been a major factor in their inability to compete with the Nuggets.
