A season that began with scandals off the field is coming to a conclusion with an increasing number of scandalous performances, including the disastrous 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday. After his team was dominated for long stretches of the match, Erik ten Hag saw the pressure build and had to rely on a questionable penalty that even he acknowledged should not have been granted.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new co-owner, has probably been attentively observing as he and the other club executives assess Ten Hag’s capacity to turn things around. Although Ratcliffe and company might be in charge by the time the 2024–25 season rolls around, fans are hoping for change outside of the dugout as well.

The most recent information from Old Trafford is compiled here.

PSG quells Rashford’s curiosity

After discovering that Marcus Rashford would require a £100 million deal, Paris Saint-Germain has shifted its attention to other recruitment targets. The Ligue 1 winners were reportedly putting together a new offer for the 26-year-old, who is having another disappointing season despite scoring a career-high 30 goals the previous one, according to a report from Mirror Football last month.

However, The Sun claims that PSG is lowering its bid as they want to replace Kylian Mbappe, who is headed to Real Madrid. After committing Rashford to a new five-year contract last summer, United are reportedly aiming for almost £100 million, albeit a £75 million approach has been made.

Ten Hag is not agreed with Dalot.

Despite Erik ten Hag’s insistence to the contrary, Diogo Dalot concedes that Manchester United’s high number of shots conceded is an issue. Ten Hag recently called out criticism over the number of shots his team consistently allows “ridiculous,” but it appears from Dalot’s remarks that the Portuguese right-back disagrees with his manager.

“I think it is a fact, something we are looking [at],” Dalot, who has mostly been a constant in defense this season, said in response to a question concerning the 20 shots that United gave up against Bournemouth. Sometimes there is a little bit too much space between the defense and midfield, so perhaps we are taking too many chances.”

Keys discusses the Garnacho row.

Richard Keys says he has “sympathy” for Alejandro Garnacho, who was seen ‘liking’ two social media posts which criticised Erik ten Hag after Saturday’s draw. Amad took Garnacho’s place at halftime after the 19-year-old gave the ball away for the Cherries’ first goal.

Ten Hag brought up the Argentina international’s mistake at his post-game press conference, and Garnacho seemed incensed. Keys said, “I have some sympathy with that view,” on beIN Sports. “For the past two months, Garnacho has been digging [Ten Hag] out, week after week. Adolescent athletes commit errors, he stated. Ten Hag believes that the harm has already been done.”
