CBS execs tried intervention to address Tony Romo's slippage in booth

Tony Romo and his wife, Candice Romo

Tony Romo and his wife, Candice Romo, got some air time over the weekend after they were spotted at Lionel Messi’s MLS game in Dallas on Sunday night.

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current CBS analyst and his wife were watching Inter Miami CF take on FC Dallas on Sunday evening.

Fans had many jokes upon seeing Romo talking to his wife as she looked disinterested in what was coming out of his mouth.

The Dallas Cowboys have had some legendary quarterbacks, but Tony Romo leads them all in franchise passing yards.

After Troy Aikman, the Cowboys were in quarterback purgatory, from which Tony Romo rescued them. He made four Pro Bowls and achieved a winning percentage of 0.614 in the regular season. However, in the postseason, he could not helm them to success, never getting them past the divisional round.

His least favorite moment was when he fumbled the snap on a field-goal try with 1:19 left in Dallas’ 21-20 wild-card loss to Seattle in 2006.

Romo joined CBS Sports in April 2017 and became an instant hit for his ability to predict plays right before they happened. The lure of him has since came off as many have been turned off by his commentary, but he is still very good at what he does.

CBS reportedly held an intervention with color commentator Tony Romo last off-season about the former quarterback’s lack of preparation. We shall see if things change with him this upcoming season.
