The former college stars are coming off a disappointing end to March Madness, though they both made it to the finals. Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes were bested in the women’s national championship game, losing to the South Carolina Gamecocks last Sunday.

Edey and the Purdue Boilermakers lost the final to Dan Hurley’s unstoppable UConn Huskies the following night.

Despite the losses, they were both named Wooden Award winners. Said award goes to the best men’s and women’s college basketball players every season, and it wasn’t hard to make a pick this year.

Edey averaged 25 points and 12 rebounds a game, taking Purdue all the way to the final. Clark averaged 31.6 points, 8.9 assists, and 7.4 rebounds per game during the season, also becoming college basketball’s highest-ever scorer.

Caitlin Clark and Zach Edey Are Headed To The Pros

Both Caitlin Clark and Zach Edey are turning pro this year. Clark is expected to go No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft on Monday after an amazing four years in college.

Edey is projected to be a late first-round or early second-round pick when the NBA Draft rolls around in June. So perhaps he’ll get to have a go at Draymond Green for claiming he quit on Purdue in Monday’s final.
