Here's Taylor Swift's Full "Tortured Poets Department" Track List

You may sometimes hear people dismiss full-lengths, arguing that nobody really cares very much about albums anymore. Ask any Swiftie on the planet, however, and you’ll discover that’s nonsense. Taylor Swift is the most popular musical figure of our time, and her albums are so anticipated that millions often have a relationship with her projects before they’re even released. Rumors and speculation about her eleventh studio album The Tortured Poets Department have been rife, and naturally, some are finding the waiting unbearable.

Taylor Swift fans banned from searching new album ‘leak’

Searching for an album leak is commonplace in our day and age, but preventative measures have already been put in place to prevent fans from seeking out a leak for The Tortured Poets Department amid rumors it has surfaced online.

Ahead of the album’s Friday, April 19th 2024 release date, Twitter/X has placed a ban on searching for any leaks of Taylor’s long-awaited upcoming album.

If you head onto the popular app and search, say, ‘Taylor Swift leak,’ you’ll be met with ‘Something went wrong. Try reloading,’ and no results. Try reloading all you wish, no Swifties will be unwrapping Tay’s 16-track present before it hits streaming services.

You may remember that Twitter/X also took the same approach when deepfakes of the singer-songwriter emerged on the platform. The AI-generated images were taken down and search terms surrounding the images were banned to tackle an influx of people searching to find them.

Patience is a virtue, and fans will simply have to wait until Friday to unlock the wonders of The Tortured Poets Department, already revealed to have features from Post Malone and Florence and the Machine.

Taylor tried to stop 1989 album leaking, but it didn’t work

Of course, this isn’t Taylor’s first rodeo when it comes to people desperately trying to listen to her material before it’s officially released.

The anticipation for Tay’s fifth studio album 1989, released in 2014, was through the roof, and Taylor herself went through a range of preventative measures to ensure it wasn’t leaked early.

Yahoo! reports she even blasted heavy metal music out of the windows during a surprising listening party for fans at her Los Angeles residence, hoping it would drown out any sound of her album being picked up by far away high-level microphones.

Journalists had to sign NDAs before hearing it, and other measures were taken too. And yet, the singer’s Herculean efforts didn’t stop 1989 leaking three days ahead of its release.

“I have a lot of maybe-/maybe-not-irrational fears of security invasion, wiretaps, people eavesdropping,” Taylor once revealed during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, admitting for a handful of months the only copy of 1989 was accessible on her phone.

So, to deter those determined to go out in search of it this Thursday afternoon, sit patient—that wait is almost over, even if counting down the seconds is starting to feel a little monotonous.
