Tom Brady gives fans more hope of an NFL comeback with newest video

Tom Brady has made it clear that he is not contemplating unretiring for a second time in 2024…but some believe that the NFL‘s greatest quarterback has cracked the door open, just a little bit, for a sensational return to pro football. For example, Brady has named three teams for which he would come back out of retirement, even though he has signed a 10-year broadcasting agreement with FOX Sports and is still trying to claim an ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.

Rumblings that Brady could yet return to pro football in the near future have received a fresh boost, as the seven-time Super Bowl winner has playfully hinted at the possibility while teasing a new ad campaign for a huge brand.

Brady teases a new campaign with Hertz

In a reel uploaded to Instagram on Tuesday, Brady puts on his best announcer voice — somewhat reluctantly — to tease his continued presence in Hertz car rental commercials. The car rental giant, which generated $9 billion in revenue last year, has previously worked with Brady — he starred in a 2023 campaign with comedian Yvonne Orji discussing Hertz’s investment in electric vehicles.

Hertz has long been affiliated with the NFL. The company paid the late O.J. Simpson millions of dollars to advertise its vehicles in the 1970s, and Simpson was still contracted as a paid spokesperson when he was arrested under charges of double murder in 1994. Brady has previously stated that he “actually” uses Hertz vehicles when he needs to rent a car.

Nevertheless, fans on Instagram are holding out hope that this marketing ploy from Brady is an indication that he really could play in the NFL in 2024. One user asked Brady for “one more final dance” and another said Brady remains “the only man that can stop the NFL from showing Taylor Swift during the Super Bowl.” Another mentioned the New England Patriots‘ official Instagram account and asked if the franchise could re-sign Brady so that rookie Drake Maye could watch and learn from the GOAT.
