A view of a massive tornado from the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ Memorial Stadium caught in a clip has gone viral online.

A tornado warning was issued for multiple Nebraska counties this weekend after one was spotted in Lincoln on Friday. Footage of the vortex surfaced on Twitter/X shortly after, with one of them showing it crossing Interstate 80.

You can see it in the clip right below:

Tornado of the year so far. Straight up,” one user wrote. “Absolutely mind blowing. Looks like a tornado you’d see in a video game or movie.

I hope it does NOT go into any populated areas,” another commented.

A tornado also made its way north of Nebraska’s college football stadium, with Hudl’s Anthony Galvan sharing a video from the venue’s viewpoint.

The video has garnered well over 500,000 views and prompted several news outlets to ask Galvan for his permission to use it. He obliged, of course.

Seeing a tornado this close to Memorial Stadium is wild,” Nebraska reporter Amie Just offered.

The recruits in town will never forget this visit,” another user claimed.

Did The Conditions Affect The Nebraska Cornhuskers’ Spring Game?

As mentioned above, a warning was issued for several counties on Friday, with emergency personnel sent to Interstate 80.

Deputies are on Interstate 80 right now, please avoid the area. Let first responders get to the area,” the local county sheriff’s office warned. “Again please stay off the interstate.

Other news reports note that there were multiple tornadoes in the state, with several homes getting destroyed.

Destructive tornadoes gutted homes as they plowed through Nebraska and Iowa, and the “dangerous” weather threat escalated significantly on Saturday as tornado-spawning storms posed a risk from Michigan to Texas,” CNN reported on Saturday afternoon.

Fortunately, and surprisingly, no deaths have been recorded, per Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen.

Meanwhile, the Nebraska Cornhuskers went on with their annual White-Red Spring Game, with Red winning 25-21.
