The Old Trafford team did not hide their intention to recruit Crystal Palace’s rising star, Michael Olise.

This season, the Frenchman has struggled with hamstring problems, which has limited him to just 15 appearances for Crystal Palace in the Premier League. However, that hasn’t stopped Olise from shining with 7 goals and 4 assists so far.

The 22-year-old player’s impressive performance made many big men in England stand still. One of the most notable names pursuing Michael Olise is Manchester United , with the expected fee to break his contract being £60 million.

It is unknown what the outcome of this deal will be, but if the Red Devils were to acquire Olise’s services after this summer’s transfer window, where would he play in Erik ten Hag’s squad?

1. Right wing striker

Man United desires to get the French player.

The player born in 2001 is left-footed but chose the right wing to develop his career. It allows him to cut inside to finish or make nasty crosses. Man United has also used that style of play in the last two seasons with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

If Olise is acquired, the Old Trafford home team will have another powerful weapon on the right wing, and this will also help Diogo Dalot maximize his ability to support the attack. That is good news for Man United but bad news for Antony, because if that happens, the Brazilian player will be kicked out of the squad.

2. Left wing striker

Since moving to Palace, Michael Olise has nailed the right wing. But before that, when he played for Reading in the Championship, his regular position was on the left wing. Thus, the French player is no stranger to this role, and he has enough ability to do it well. This will also be an effective solution for the Red Devils whenever they need to swap roles to surprise their opponents.

Olise is a very versatile player.

Olise also played many times as a number 10 in coach Oliver Glasner’s squad, and he performed quite well during those times. Therefore, there is no reason to prevent Erik ten Hag from considering using Olise to play right behind Rasmus Hojlund.

Olise’s vision, passing range and long-range shooting ability will be a threat to every defense. Currently, this role is being assigned to captain Bruno Fernandes. However, in matches where Manchester United wants to dominate ball control against a deep-lying defense, the Portuguese star will be pulled down a bit, ceding space in front of the 16m50 box to Olise.
