Australian model claims she ‘ghosted’ superstar Leonardo DiCaprio when he invited her on a dinner date

Australian model and influencer Steph Claire Smith has claimed that she almost went on a date with Leonardo DiCaprio.

On a recent episode of her podcast, KICPOD, alongside co-host Laura Henshaw, the 29-year-old says she was out clubbing in LA when she was 19-years-old and happened upon the actor.

‘I was dancing on my own for most of the night, and I noticed someone looking at me and I realised this guy is wearing one of those hats, like those English hats and I was like, he kinda looks like Leonardo DiCaprio,’ she began.

‘Then my friend came over and was like, “Steph, apparently Leonardo DiCaprio is here” and I was like “WOW it is him!”‘

The model later went onto another club, where she says she again saw Leo, before his assistant approached her.

‘This person that was with him weaved themselves through the crowd and was like, “Do you want to meet Leo?” Abso-f***ing-lutely I do!

‘So we went over, he did the whole French double kiss on the cheek… and then he was like, “Can I grab your number, I would love to take you out for dinner to some of the nicest restaurants around here.”

‘He then messaged us and said, “This is Leo, this is the number you can contact me on”‘.

Stephanie admitted that she ‘never replied’ to that message.

‘I’m sorry can we just drill down on the fact that you left Leonardo DiCaprio on read?’ the show’s producer Mandy chimed in.

‘I’m the one that got away, I don’t know what to say,’ she joked, adding that she’d already begun dating her now-husband, Josh Miller, and was happily in love.

‘You ghosted Leonardo DiCaprio,’ her shocked co-host Laura exclaimed.

Steph went on to say that she called her boyfriend that night to tell him what had  happened and rather than being jealous, he was impressed.

Josh and Steph married in 2019 and they have one child, son Harvey, born in 2021.

Leo split with his girlfriend of four years, Camila Morrone, in August last year.

He has since been linked to Eden Polani, Gigi Hadid and Maya Jama.
