Bruce Willis’ wife Emma shares heart-melting snaps of him with their daughter Mabel for her 11th birthday… as movie star battles dementia

Bruce Willis’ wife Emma shared a string of heartwarming snaps Saturday of him with their daughter Mabel, who turned 11 that day.

Compiled in a video, the pictures showed Mabel through the years sitting on her father’s shoulders and sharing bonding experiences with him.

Last year Bruce, 68 – who celebrated his 14th wedding anniversary with Emma last month – withdrew from showbiz amid his battle with the brain condition ‘aphasia,’ which causes the patient’s language abilities to deteriorate.

Then last month his family announced that his illness had ‘progressed’ and he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

However in her latest post, Emma was focused on the family’s happier moments, sharing pictures that included one of her and Bruce kissing Mabel’s cheeks.

‘Happy 11th Birthday Mabel Ray! Your energy is infectious. You can light a whole room with your smile and warmth,’ the proud mother gushed in her caption.

‘How you love and care for your family and friends is beautiful to witness. Keep shining my love and always remember to #liveitup.’

Emma, 44, a British model, married Bruce in 2009 and in addition to Mabel they also share an eight-year-old daughter called Evelyn.

Bruce also has three adult daughters – Rumer, 34, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 29 – with his ex-wife Demi Moore, who has stayed famously friendly with both him and Emma.

All five of his daughters and both of his wives rallied around Bruce in the wake of his aphasia diagnosis and they all announced his dementia in a joint statement.

‘Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD),’ they said together.

‘Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.’

FTD, which impacts the brain lobes behind the forehead, can cause obsessive behavior, troubles with speaking and an altered personality.

‘Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead,’ his family sadly noted in their statement.

‘As Bruce’s condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research.’

They added: ‘Bruce always believed in using his voice in the world to help others, and to raise awareness about important issues both publicly and privately.’
