However, before he lost his role, Johnny Depp was once surprised by Disney’s obsession with the franchise and was even more shocked by the Studio’s plans. Appearing in The Ellen Show, Depp expressed his state of shock when the host, Ellen DeGeneres revealed Disney’s plan regarding the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

“And then look at it now, it’s crazy. From what I heard today, there’s like 4 or 5 more lined up, is that true?” DeGeneres asked.

Appearing shocked by the brand new information, Johnny Depp initially fumbled for words, before gathering himself and giving the most fitted reply.

“4 or 5 more? Yeah, I’ll be doing this till I’m 115”

Well, following that interview, the actor did appear in four more Pirates of the Caribbean movies, until he ultimately had a fallout with Disney, following his defamation trial against Amber Heard.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s lawsuit has been the most notorious celebrity battle ever witnessed by Tinseltown. Prolonged over months, since their divorce, the duo often appeared in court for different cases. However, eventually, their battle ended in November 2022, with Depp winning the lawsuit.

With the movie currently in development, nothing has been confirmed, but fans are hoping for the best.
