Following the widely controversial legal drama with his ex-wife, Johnny Depp is slowly trying to get back his career on track. Things went South for the Jack Sparrow star after he was embroiled in a legal battle with Amber Heard. Ultimately, Depp came out victorious in the Defamation Trial but the whole scenario led him to face a series of problems after he lost numerous projects and also many opinions of the worldwide audience.

Recently, in an interview with the South China Morning Post (via Yahoo), Johnny Depp admitted that he finds his private island in the Bahamas a “safe place”. It is the only place where he feels freedom and where he doesn’t have to care about the attention of others.

“Where I feel the most myself in this world, and where I go to feel absolutely normal, I suppose, is my place in the Bahamas, because it’s an island and nobody’s looking at me. You’ve got to have some sanctuary, a safe place where you can escape the scrutiny and the interest of others, a place where you can just sit on a beach, read, paint, meditate or whatever, that’s freedom to me. That’s the only real freedom.”

The Edward Scissorhands actor added that he believes in simplicity and that’s one of the major reasons why the beach house appeals to him so much- I don’t have a decadent lifestyle. Yes, everything boils down to real simplicity for me.”

Johnny Depp was also spotted last in the French film Jeanne du Barry for which he received mixed to positive responses from various critics. On the other hand, he is also set to direct Modigliani which he will also co-produce with The Godfather fame Al Pacino. But on the contrary, things don’t look right for Amber Heard.

It can’t be denied that Amber Heard‘s career is almost finished after everything that we got to see in the defamation case. As her Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is still yet to release, the DC fans were demanding Warner Bros. to remove all her scenes from the Jason Momoa starrer. It was reported that her scenes were cut down from the film and she is barely there. Director James Wan also stated that the sequel was never about Mera.

As the latest trailer dropped, it was clear that the makers were telling the truth as Amber Heard’s presence in it is a blink-and-miss. But it was interesting to look at the netizens who even couldn’t endure 3 seconds of her screen time. A user wrote:

It is notable how Johnny Depp was removed from almost every major production as soon as he was accused. The fans still point this out and it is sure to affect the performance of the upcoming DC movie. It is quite concerning for DC who are on a flop-streak. Even their highly anticipated The Flash turned out to be a disaster which makes it an extremely tough job for Aquaman 2 to mimic the success of the first movie.
